If you’re familiar with The Beatles, you know they were one of the greatest rock bands ever. They were also the inspiration behind Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” single off their sophomore album, ‘Sremm Life 2’.
The single featuring Gucci Mane and produced by Mike WiLL-Made It, has shot up from No. 9 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, passing The Chainsmokers for the top spot. “Black Beatles” is not only Rae Sremmurd’s first No. 1 hit, it is also Mike WiLL-Made It and Gucci Mane’s first.
Mike WiLL, whom was discovered by Gucci and ironically discovered Rae Sremmurd, shared his experience with Billboard saying, “To be able to put Gucci Mane, the person that gave me my first opportunity in music, and Rae Sremmurd, the debut artist from my [imprint, Eardrummer], on what’s both [Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane’s] biggest record ever, and the first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 for both, is something I could have never imagined or dreamed of.”
It is worth noting that the recent Mannequin Challenge viral frenzy has helped the song jump up eight spots and contributed to sales and streams.
