Pharrell Recaps His First Book Signing & Discusses Interviewing Jay-Z (Video)

“If you look at like a Jay-Z for example, the thing that tore most people down is what he put on his back and sort of made it make sense, and set an example for what adversity is meant to do in our lifetime. So, it was cool to interview him because he is a living manifestation of my view, that is essentially everything is mind over matter, and with the right determination and the right skill-set, there’s no reason why you can’t figure it out. Then you find your purpose, and that’s a guy who’s found his purpose.”

How you niggas want it, pick a arm
They call me Lucky Lefty…

Jay-Z & Beyoncé Host Obama Fundraiser Event at NYC’s 40/40 Club (News)

Hip-Hop’s favorite power couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, threw a fundraiser event in support of President Obama at NYC’s 40/40 club on Tuesday night. The event was exclusive to a handful of attendees, who paid $40,000 each to attend the function. In all, the couple raised a total of $4 million. Beyoncé, who wore a stunning red dress, expressed her support for Obama: “I can’t tell you how proud we are to host tonight’s event with President Obama. We believe in his vision.”

The 44th President praised the couple, expressed how Beyoncé’s a role model for his daughters, and the connection he feels to the couple: “To J and B, thank you so much for your friendship. Michelle, Sasha and Malia are mad at me because they aren’t here. Beyoncé couldn’t be a better role model for our daughters because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent. We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are. So, you know, we’ve got a little bond there. It’s hard but it’s okay. We’ve made history in the past and we’re going to make history in the next seven weeks.”
