Jay-Z’s ‘The Blueprint’ Album Is Being Added To National Recording Registry [PEEP]

One of Jay-Z’s best albums and a definite classic is his 2001 release ‘The Blueprint’. The recording is amongst 25 albums that will be entered in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry this year.

“’The Blueprint’ demonstrates JAY-Z’s range, from battle raps throwing shade on his lyrical adversaries such as Nas and Prodigy of Mob Deep, to triumphant anthems about life at the top, to heartfelt examinations of his personal history,” said the Library in their press release.

Other inductees that will go in with Hov’s ‘The Blueprint’ are Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September,” Cyndi Lauper’s 1983 album She’s So Unusual, Ritchie Valens’ 1958 single “La Bamba,” Curtis Mayfield’s 1972 album Superfly, and Nina Simone’s 1964 single “Mississippi Goddam.”

Jay-Z & Beyoncé Announce Their “On The Run II” Tour [PEEP]

Four-years after setting a precedent and joining forces for the original “On the Run” tour, Jay-Z and Beyoncé officially announce the sequel of the critically-acclaimed tour.

There had been several rumors alluding to the power couple reuniting for a joint tour and last week a flyer of the tour was even leaked. Remaining mum, neither Hov nor Bey addressed the situation and instead went all the way live with it today.

The “On the Run II Tour” will kick off this summer in the United Kingdom, before expanding to Europe and then coming to North America. It is a 36-date stadium tour set to start on June 6th in Cardiff, U.K. and hit other cities overseas like Manchester, London, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Stockholm, Rome, and wrap up July 17th in Nice, France.

From there it will hit the second leg in North America beginning July 25th in Cleveland, Ohio. The tour is set to hit major cities like Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and more. It will culminate on October 2nd in Vancouver.

Their last tour included an HBO special in 2014 of the trek, which was nominated for an Emmy. The preview video for the tour shows footage from that tour and is soundtracked by Marcia Aitken’s “I’m Still In Love (With You Boy).” There has also been talks of a joint album, although there isn’t much info on it as of now. If the joint album is going to happen, there couldn’t be a better time for that to come to fruition.

Pre-sale tickets for Citi, TIDAL, and BeyHive members will start on Wednesday, March 14th. General tickets will go on sale March 19th. Select European markets will have to wait till March 23rd to purchase tickets.
