Drake Makes It On Forbes Five List

Forbes put out their annual “Forbes Five: Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists” list with some familiar names and a new one.

Diddy topped the list with an estimated net worth of $750-million for his stakes in Ciroc vodka, Revolt network, Aquahydrate alkaline water and SeanJohn clothing.

Dr. Dre came in at No. 2 with $710-millon much of which came with the sale of his Beats by Dre headphones brand to Apple. Last year’s N.W.A. biopic also reeled in a nice amount of revenue. In addition he also has stocks in Apple and a plethora of real estate in Southern California.

Jay-Z cruised in at No. 3 with $610-millon for his TIDAL streaming service that has over 3-million subscribers and also a slew of other business ventures including D’usse and Ace of Spades champagne.

At No. 4 was Bryan “Birdman” Williams with $110-million for the success of multiplatinum selling artists, Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj. Put some “respeck” on that.

The final and newest member of the list at No. 5 is OVO head-honcho, Drake with $60-million. The music sales definitely helped, but Drizzy owes most of it to touring and partnerships with Jordan, Apple and Sprite.

All five of them combine for a total of over $2-billion combined.

50 Cent’s bankruptcy struggles kept him off the list this year.

Dr. Dre & Ice Cube Cover ‘Rolling Stone’ Magazine (News)

The Dr. and Ice Cube graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine! Inside the magazine they open about N.W.A, Detox, and more!

Read below…

ICE CUBE ON THE N.W.A STORY: “You had to see why we did the music. You know, not just ‘we were young, angry ni**as out of South Central,’ but why did we make those kind of records? We were living in the middle of dope dealing, gangbanging, police brutality, fu**ing Reaganomics, and there was nowhere to escape.”

DR. DRE ON DETOX: “I had between 20 and 40 songs for Detox, and I just couldn’t feel it. Usually I can hear the sequence of an album as I’m going, but I wasn’t able to do that. I wasn’t feeling it in my gut. So I really thought I was done being an artist.”

CUBE ON N.W.A’S MISOGYNISTIC LYRICS: “If you’re a bitch, you’re probably not going to like us. If you’re a ho, you probably don’t like us. If you’re not a ho or a bitch, don’t be jumping to the defense of these despicable females. Just like I shouldn’t be jumping to the defense of no punks or no cowards or no slimy son of a bitches that’s men. I never understood why an upstanding lady would even think we’re talking about her.”

DRE ON WHY HE REMAINS OUT OF THE SPOTLIGHT: “I have social anxiety. I don’t like being in the spotlight, so I made a fu**ing weird career choice. That’s the reason for my mystique and why I’m so secluded and why everybody knows nothing about me. I think it added to the character in the movie because people get a chance to see behind the curtain.”
