Since Belly spit his infamous #Freestyle004 for us, hip-hop enthusiasts have been patentiely waiting to hear some new material from the XO rapper. Uniting with OVO affiliate, Boi1da, Belly releases his new project, ‘Mumble Rap’.
The 11-track project is entirely produced by Boi1da and the title is quite ironic, given Belly really doesn’t mumble and instead fires off clear, ferocious bars that will have you bopping your head the whole time you listen.
With only one feature from Pusha T over the 11 songs, Belly finds himself scorching heavy bars throughout.
“Uh, look, immigration to the trap/Generations to adapt/Life sentence in my lap, now vacations overlap/Still I’m pacin’, won’t relax/Invitations to relapse/Inspiration through the raps/Watch what I say on the track/Statute of limitation on my back/Investigations comin’ up, interrogations never crack,” he raps on the album’s opener, “Immigration to the Trap.”
This marks the first full-length release for Belly since last year’s ‘InZombia’ mixtape that spawned “Might Not” featuring The Weeknd.
