Less than a week from its release, Jay-Z’s 13th studio album, ‘4:44’ earns RIAA platinum certification. In doing so Hov earns his 13th solo platinum certification, making him the hip-hop act with the most platinum albums.
Roc Nation first announced the news with a tweet that read, “.@S_C_ has earned 13 Platinum solo studio Album awards, more than any other hip-hop artist in @RIAA Gold & Platinum history. #RIAAPlatinum.”

It’s quite a extraordinary feat considering it’s only available on TIDAL exclusively and Hov also shared a link for a free download, which would take away from sales. On Friday the album will be made available on iTunes and Apple Music. Physical copies will be released later and include three additional bonus tracks.
This Friday Hov will also drop the video for “4:44” along with the footnotes for “4:44.” Over the weekened he shared the footnotes for “The Story of OJ” with commentary from Kendrick Lamar, Will Smith, Chris Rock, Van Jones, and others.
CONGRATS, HOV! What a feat!
