Drake To Executive Produce New HBO Series [PEEP]

Drake has been killing the charts with his recently-released ‘Scorpion’ album and continues to break different records with his music. Looking to crossover to film, The 6 God will serve as the executive producer for the upcoming HBO series, “Euphoria,” along with his manager/DJ Future the Prince.

The series is a teen drama series that is based on the 2012 Israeli series “Euphoria.” It follows a group of high school kids as they “navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship,” according to Variety.

Bay Area songstress Zendaya will star in the lead role as Ruewith Sam Levinson of HBO’s “Wizard of Lies” writing all 10 episodes. The cast will also include Maude Apatow, Brian “Astro” Bradley, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney. A24 will produce the series.

HBO already ordered the pilot in March and Senior VP of HBO Drama Series, Francesca Orsi, described the series as “Kids meets Trainspotting, and what might exist when parents don’t exist.”

Drizzy, starred in the Canadian drama franchise “Degrassi” from 2001 to 2005 as Jimmy Brooks before going on to pursue a career in music. It’s safe to say Drake misses acting and is slowly getting back to it.

New Music: J. Cole – “Want You To Fly” [LISTEN]

4-your-eyez-only-doc

J. Cole’s “4 Your Eyez Only” HBO documentary-special premiered on HBO Saturday night. During the special the Dreamville rapper premiered some new heat. The uplifting single is unnamed and has not yet hit digital retailers but based on the ending, where the rapper sings, “want you to fly / want you to fly,” I’m going out on a limb and assuming that’s the title.

The clip goes back-and-forth between a church service and a forest where Cole raps and is shown sporting a sweater that says, “we need leaders”. On the track Cole raps about this generation’s social media obsession, his people’s hunger to shine, needing leaders, and more.
