Drake To Trademark “God’s Plan” For TV Game Show & Merch [PEEP]

Drake has already had a lot of success with his single “God’s Plan,” which topped the charts, earned a platinum certification, put up record-breaking numbers on YouTube with its heartfelt video, and helped his ‘Scorpion’ album go platinum upon its release.

That’s not where it stops as according to documents obtained by TMZ, the 6 God has bigger tings in store. The documents state Drizzy has filed a trademark for “God’s Plan” and Drake’s plan is to use the name for a TV game show and clothing merch.

Aside from that, the trademark also includes other ventures like downloadable music, audio recordings, music videos, promotion, and marketing.

Whether or not the “God’s Plan” game show is actually in the works is still to be seen. Perhaps the show, if it comes to fruition will be inspired by the video which has garnered over 700-million views on YouTube.

Drizzy has been seeking other endeavors aside from music and recently signed on to be the executive producer for an upcoming HBO teen drama called “Euphoria,” that’ll star fellow musician, Zendaya. In his recent “Sicko Mode” collaboration off Travis Scott’s ‘ASTROWORLD’, he also hinted at re-uping his deal with Nike/Jordan.

On the music front his ‘Scorpion’ album continue to do numbers and remains at No. 1 on Billboard, while the viral “In My Feelings” single tops the hot 100 for a fourth straight week.

Since Pusha T’s scathing “The Story of Adidon” diss track, Drake has been quieter than usual on social media and disappeared from the spotlight. “Looking for revenge” and maybe some redemption, The 6 God announced the release date for his forthcoming ‘Scorpion’ album.

In an Instagram post, Drizzy made the announcement with a simple caption that read, “JUNE 29 2018,” along with a scorpion emoji. In the post he also shared the cover artwork, which is a black-and-white headshot of himself with his “Aubrey Graham” signature and “Scorpion 2018” in the bottom right corner.

The majority of Drake’s ‘Scorpion’ album was recorded in his hometown of Toronto, as many pictures have surfaced of him locked away in his T.O. home studio. He has also spent a vast majority of time in Toronto. During Drake Night at the Raptors’ game he told fans in attendance, “I’m working on this new album for the city.”

Drizzy has been releasing an album almost every year since 2012. ‘Scorpion’ follows up last year’s chart-topping ‘More Life’ album.

Along with the major album announcements, Drake also shared the video for his recent single “I’m Upset.” The Karena Evans-directed visual takes fans down memory lane as Drizzy has a “Degrassi” reunion with cast members from the old show.

Former stars of the show including Jay & Silent Bob get together for a reunion party at Degrassi Community School. In one scene OVO members chase down the man who shot Jimmy (Drake) in the show.
