It’s a cold hard fact that Jay-Z is one of the illest lyricist to have ever rocked a mic, and he’s being recognized for it with a nomination to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame 2017 class.

Along with Hov other nominees include Madonna, Babyface, Kool & the Gang, Gloria Estefan, George Michael, Bryan Adams, Sly Stone, and other greats.

Jay was initiated into the game in 1996 with his classic album, ‘Resonable Doubt’, which just celebrated its 20-year anniversary. Since then the Brooklyn rapper has gone on to drop another 11 solo albums, been the recipient of 21 GRAMMY Awards, 8 MTV VMAs, 7 BET Awards, and 3 American Music Awards.

Voting for the Songwriters Hall of Fame begins next month, while the Annual Induction & Awards Gala will take place June 15th of next year in New York City.

Good luck, Hov!
