Kanye West – Yeezus (Album Artwork)

kanye-west-yeezus-cover_0

UPDATE: Forget everything I said. Yeezus has no artwork. Or booklet. Just a piece of red tape and the music. Very demo-ish. Kanye West’s sixth studio album hits stores June 18th.

UPDATE 2: It’s official. Head on over to his site for a 10-second snippet of a new track.

Kanye West pretty much took over the weekend. After debuting “New Slaves” on 66 different buildings around the globe and performing for SNL’s season finale, it seems that the artwork for Kanye’s new album, Yeezus, is making headlines.

Usually, we’d wait on a confirmation tweet from the man himself before we post but his manager Don C. posted an instagram with the caption, “#yeezy2seasonhasreturned #yeezus.”

Yeezus finally drops June 18th.

Diplo Wanted To Get A Nicki Minaj Verse For “Bubble Butt” (Video)

In an interview with Krystal Bee from Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Diplo shared that he originally wanted to snatch a verse from Nicki Minaj for his booty shaking single, “Bubble Butt.” Not insinuating anything but that would have a fitting feature.

When asked if he would try to place her on another song and which one would it be, he replied, “I can make booty songs all day long.” I’d be down to hear Nicki on a Major Lazer track. Make it happen, Diplo!

Joey Bada$$ – Word Is Bond (Audio)

It’s not just a new song that’s being posted but the artwork of his upcoming album, Summer Knights, the announcement of said album and it’s release date, June 12th. Lots of information in one sentence, right? For the first Summer Knights single, Joey Bada$$’ has released “Word Is Bond” with a lovely musical arrangement provided by Statik Selektah.

Summer night approved.

Still USC (Yup, It’s a “Still D.R.E.” Parody) (Video)

There are many ways to pay tribute to someone who’s donated $70 million (well, 35 milli since it was split in half) to your school and making a parody of their classic track is one of them. As you may have heard, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are building a Music-based undergraduate program at the University of Southern California (USC). Well to pay homage to the gawd Dre and to show their strong school spirit, two alums got together to rap over “Still D.R.E.” and titled it “Still USC.”

They look pretty comfortable rapping in front of the camera. Which makes me wonder, was spitting fiyah a requirement to become student body president? 70 mill, baby. Check out the parody above and fight on, playas.
