New Music: Tory Lanez – “Free 21 Freestyle” [LISTEN]

Tory Lanez has been buzzing lately going bar-for-bar with worthy peers only. Today he used his lyrical abilities to take a stand with a “Free 21” freestyle, preaching for 21’s freedom. Over the “A lot” instrumental he pledged solidarity with 21 over his legal citizenship woes.

“Look at what happened to 21 Savage/I’m knowin’ that shit could’ve happened to me/How they gonna cut our nigga from the country for simply rappin’ on beats/That happened to reach his goals, touchin’ the souls/Of niggas that happened to be out trappin’ the trees?/Or packin’ the nines, a gat in their spine, it’s that or the back of the seat,” he rapped.

Immigration is clearly not a laughing matter everyone deserves to be treated better. On the bright side 21 was released from the ICE facility he was being held at on bail and will await his deportation hearing.

List Of 2019 GRAMMY Award Winners Of The Culture [PEEP]

All the stars aligned last night at the STAPLES Center for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. There were a lot of major headlines for the culture in the record-breaking night as Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” became the first rap song to win “Song of the Year” and Cardi B became the first female to win “Best Rap Album” for ‘Invasion of Privacy’.

Aside from all that there were lit performances from Travis Scott, Cardi B, Post Malone, Ella Mai, and more. Drake delivered a very woke GRAMMY speech after picking up the award for “Best Rap Song.”

“Know we play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport. It is not the NBA… This is a business where sometimes it is up to a bunch of people that might not understand what a mixed race kid from Canada has to say… or a brother from Houston right there, my brother Travis. You’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you are a hero in your hometown. If there is people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this right here, I promise you, you already won,” he said.

Check out the full list of winners from the culture below.

New Music: Migos – “Position To Win” [LISTEN]

Based on the track record for the Migos the last two-years they’ve always had some new heat for the streets around this time of year. To no surprise they’re back with a new jam entitled, “Position To Win,” which follows their last release with Mustard “Pure Water.”

This new joint sounds a bit different from what we’re used to from them and comes infused with new sounds on the DJ Durel production. The song debuted as a Mountain Dew commercial a few weeks ago with featured NBA star Joel Embiid and MMA fighter Holly Holm. Not too sure if this is the lead single for the upcoming ‘Culture lll’ album or is just for promo.
