Hip-Hop Legend Common Delivers Monumental Bars On #Freestyle081 [WATCH]

About a year-ago I put out a tweet that asked fans who they wanna see freestyle next on our series and we received a response from a hip-hop legend, Common that said, “Me!” Well, that came to fruition with Common stopping by the Power 106 #LIFTOFF to spit bars and he did not disappoint on #Freestyle081.

The hip-hop icon chose to go in over two of his own beats which are his classic “I Used To Love H.E.R.” along with the instrumental for his new song “HER Love,” which is produced by the legendary J Dilla.

Common went off the top of the head like dandruff on this freestyle for about six-minutes and references things around him in the studio. Using a play on words with “Freestyle 81” he shouts out Kobe for his legendary 81-point game back in 2006 against the Toronto Raptors, which is the second highest scoring total in NBA history.

“This is the story when I get it done, I’m sorta scoring like Kobe 81.” Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk had Common’s entire discography in front of him which he grabs various CDs and raps about them during the freestyle and it is legendary.

New Music: Lil Jon – “Ain’t No Tellin” Feat. Mac Dre [LISTEN]

Rest In Peace Mac Dre, Lil Jon does it for the Bay on his latest single, “Ain’t No Tellin.”

Over the uptempo production, Jon comes through with his Crunk Juice flow, while Mac Dre’s verse brings exactly what we would expect from the Thizz legend. Jon talked about the single with XXL saying, For me, I put Mac Dre right up there with Biggie and ’Pac as legends who have since passed on. I woke up one morning and remembered a beat I did for a Janet Jackson remix. She never used it. When I heard his vocals over the beat I was like ‘This is it!’ I think maybe God had me do that beat for Mac Dre the whole time…that was the reason Janet never used it.”

Baltimore rapper Shordie Shordie came through Power 106 to chop it up with Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk on his process of creating music and what is next for him.

Shordie tells Justin and Milk that one of his standout tracks “Bitchuary” was inspired by a phone call with a girl and her homegirl was on the phone with a guy, hung up and called another guy, which gave him the inspiration for the line “B***h you a dog and your homegirl too.”
