Harlem rapper Dave East is one of my favorite rappers out right now. He’s a lyrical genius and I’m a fan of the whole “EastMix” series, where he remixes the biggest joints, adding some sick ass barz. Last week he flipped French Montana’s hit-single “Unforgettable” and today he gives us the video for The Weeknd’s “Party Monster (EastMix)”.
The Puma-directed video shows Dave rapping on a stoop in the hood, blowing smoke, going on a IG liking binge of models, and sneaker shopping.
Watch the video below while you wait for his ‘Paranoia’ project coming soon.
While we wait for his ‘Perfect Timing’ collaborative project with Metro Boomin’, NAV drops the visuals for “Good For It”. The video combines behind the scenes footage of NAV likely on the “Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour” with cameos from Drake, The Weeknd, Lil Uzi Vert, Cash, Qunicy, and more. NAV is also showed hanging with beautiful women and sipping champagne, celebrating life.
“Good For It” is off NAV’s self-titled, debut album that also includes the single “Some Way” featuring The Weeknd. Catch NAV performing at Coachella this weekend.

Abel gives fans what they want in the form of a video for his single, “I Feel It Coming” featuring Daft Punk off his critically-acclaimed, ‘Starboy’ album.
The Warren Fu-directed video is literally out of this world, with the setting appearing to be shot in another galaxy. The Weeknd also stays true to his artistry by showing off his Micheal Jackson-inspired, out of this world dance moves. Fu also adds a nice touch by shooting the clips with grainy, vintage, VHS stylized effects.
The Weeknd is currently on the European leg of his “Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour” with Bryson Tiller and Lil Uzi Vert. On the run he’s linked up with Drake, who he brought out at a recent stop in London and Germany. The North American leg of the tour will include 6lack, Rae Sremmurd, and Belly. It begins April 25th.
With plenty of beautiful models around them, Nav and The Weeknd vibe out in the provocative video for “Some Way.”
The RJ Sanchez-directed video catches both XO artists at a photoshoot, where the models get their makeup, hair, wardrobe fixings, while even popping some XO pills before they hit the set.
“Some Way” is off Nav’s self-titled, debut mixtape.
One of the best up-and-coming artists, Nav drops his self-titled, debut project under XO/Republic Records.
A year ago I featured Nav as my L.A. Leakers “Indie Pick of the Week” and told y’all this guy was next. The Toronto artist was essentially a producer, who used his smooth vocals and Auto-Tune to evolve himself into a well-rounded artist.
On ‘Nav’, he wrote, produced, mixed, and mastered all 11 tracks. The only feature on the project comes from The Weeknd, although Metro Boomin, Rex Kudo, and DannyBoy Styles all earned production credits.
Nav has always had a solid work ethic and wicked production skills. He’s already announced his next project, ‘Perfect Timing’, a joint collaboration with Metro Boomin’. Read my original “Indie Pick of the Week” article on Nav HERE.
I see Nav continuing to blossom into one of the illest in the game.
Up-and-coming Atlanta artist 6lack collaborates with Jhene Aiko on the sensual bedroom single, “First F**k.”
On the track both artists go on about the first time getting freaky with 6lack singing, “I’ma make it mine for the night.” Jhene adds to it with sexy, braggadocios, provocative vocals. “I bet you’ll love me more after the first fuck,” she sings.
It’s been an exciting road for 6lack, who dropped his debut project, ‘Free 6lack’ in November. Since then he artist has been in the studio with some high profile musicians and brought out The Weeknd at one of his recent shows in LA.
6lack will join The Weeknd on his “Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour,” that will also include Rae Sremmurd and Belly. In the meantime stream “First F**k” below via Apple Music.
Future confirmed he will be releasing another album this Friday during his #AskFuture Twitter Q&A yesterday afternoon. The now confirmed ‘Hndrxx’ album will be his second to release in consecutive weeks.
The rapper posted the full tracklist for ‘Hndrxx’, which contains a total of 17 tracks and contributions from The Weeknd on “Comin Out Strong” and Rihanna on “Selfish.”
‘Hndrxx’ was originally reported by HITS Daily Double, who reported the then rumored album was going to be “more rhythmic-leaning and radio-friendly” than the self-titled album that dropped last week. With both The Weeknd and Rihanna features, that notion is definitely confirmed.
With the kind of star power this album will posses, I definitely see Future nabbing No. 1 album spots for two different albums in as many weeks. Something that is unprecedented.
Indie Pick of the Week alumni, Nav has been on a wave!
The Canadian producer-turned-artist dropped “Some Way” featuring The Weeknd. The single is the first off his upcoming, debut project, which will drop under the XO label.
The Weeknd kicks off the track by taking a jab at Justin Bieber, who recently said Abel’s music was “wack.” “Think your girl, think your girl, fell in love with me/She see my fuck and my tongue game a remedy,” sings The Weeknd, who is currently dating Bieber’s ex, Selena Gomez.
Nav follows The Weeknd’s verse and chorus with raps about his sex game and goes after the haters and name-sayers.
Fans won’t have to wait long for Nav to drop his debut project, as he recently announced on his Instagram that, “Im dropping my first project before the month is done.” In the meantime listen to “Some Way” via Apple Music below.
On Saturday The Weeknd headlined his own “Vevo Presents” show with an explosive 30-minute set at LA Hangar Studios in Los Angeles for over 1,000 of his biggest fans.
The GRAMMY-nominated singer lead things off with his chart-topping single “Starboy,” the title track off his recently-released album. He followed that up by performing other singles off the album and a seven-minute mashup of “Can’t Feel My Face” and “Secrets.”
Kendrick Lamar surprised fans in attendance when he walked on the stage to perform “Sidewalks” along with The Weeknd for the first live performance of the track.
Going into the New Year, Abel will be taking his talents on the road for his “Starboy: Legend of the Fall” tour. The tour will kick off February 17th in Stockholm, before culminating on June 9th in Cincinnati, Ohio. The 46-show tour will also make stops in other parts of Europe and South America.
With red laser beams flashing all around him, The Weeknd went on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to perform his hit-single “Starboy,” for the first time ever on daytime television.
While introducing The Weeknd, Ellen welcomed the R&B singer and praised him saying, “he’s been compared to everyone from Michael Jackson to Prince.”
“Starboy” is off The Weeknd’s third album ‘Starboy’, which is projected to top Billboard charts by selling approximately 350k-400k units in its first week.
To celebrate the release of his third studio album ‘Starboy’, The Weeknd went on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to perform “I Feel It Coming” and “Starboy” off the album.
With glimmering lights shining heavily behind him, The Weeknd did not dissapoint with his vocals and melodies that made him who he is today.
‘Starboy’ is already topping the charts with a No. 1 placement in over 70 countries. Stream ‘Starboy’ in its entirety HERE.
