Santigold – Girls (Video)

I’ve only watched one episode of Girls and wasn’t captivated by it. But it was episode 10 of season one and I probably should have started at the beginning to actually understand what I was watching so I’m probably going to give it another try, especially after the HBO original series won the Golden Globe for Best TV Comedy Series and leading lady Lena Dunham claimed Best Actress in a TV Comedy Series. I need to give it another chance or else I have no sense of humor.

Anywho, Santigold shared the music video for her single from the show’s soundtrack today. The show and the song share the same simple-yet-powerful name, “Girls” and to be honest, if the show is as free-spirited and fun as Santigold’s musical montage then I’ll probably love it. Watch the video posted above and if you’re interested, Girls is on HBO on Sunday nights.

Definitely excited for more new music from Ms. Santi White, who just recently signed to Roc Nation.

Santigold: In this song, “GO” has a dual meaning. On one hand it’s a challenge, beckoning any would-be usurpers to come show and prove. On the other, it’s a call to myself to rise to the occasion. “Go” is a “fun” song. It’s playful, but like many of my songs, lyrically it was an opportunity for me to vent. It’s about the difficulties of holding onto what’s yours, everything from your ideas and energy, to your confidence.
