Nick Grant is a prime example of how real barz go overlooked in the day and age of mumble rap. The South Carolina product nearly burned the studio down with BARbarous rhymes over The D.O.C.’s “It’s Getting Funky”.
In a little over 4-minutes Nick addressed the rap game being about flossing, how he’s a public enemy, being hotter than most rappers, and more. The rapper also made references to The Notorious B.I.G., Master Splinter, Maury, Skylar Diggins, Robin Givens, Nas, Jay-Z, and 2-Pac.
Backstage at Power 106’s #PowerHouseLA 2017, Justin and Sourmilk caught up with Kid Ink, who just got back from touring overseas. Ink discussed his recently-released ‘7 Series’ EP with the Leakers, as well as his favorite song to perform, how his collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign on “F With U” came to fruition, and much more.
Machine Gun Kelly, aka MGK is getting ready to release his forthcoming album ‘bloom’ on May 12th. The Cleveland rapper stopped by the #LIFTOFF on Power 106 to discuss the album, his love for hip hop, turning down big events to do shows for fans, people’s “sell out” comments, and more.
One of the most interesting topics discussed was fans calling MGK a “sell out” for his “Bad Things” collaboration with former Fifth Harmony member, Camila Cabello. MGK has been under fire for going commercial, despite the single’s success like winning a Disney Radio award.
MGK called ‘bloom’ a “confidence album” going on to say, “it’s one of those albums that if you don’t like it, you don’t like me being happy.”

Chance The Rapper joined Power 106’s “The Cruz Show” to talk about several topics including a collaborative album with Kanye West, being independent, his VMA moment with Beyonce, and more.
The conversation kicks off with talk of how much he’s been able to accomplish being an independent artist and not needing to be signed to be major. He also shared a story of when he met with L.A. Reid and his father called him and told him to not “sign anything.”
One of the major topics of the interview was the highly-anticipated joint project with Kanye West titled, ‘Good Ass Job.’
“I remember watching a video a long time ago where he was explaining how you have your College Dropout and then you go back and you have your Late Registration and then you finally get your Graduation and then after you graduate, you have to go get a Good Ass Job,” he said. “That was a thing in my head forever.”
When asked for the release date Chance responded by saying, “It’s definitely far from done, It’s something that gets brought up in conversation once in a while.”
He then alluded to Kanye currently working on his collaboration tape with Drake, admitting he hasn’t heard any of the songs yet, but he’s sure it’s all he’ll be listening to when it drops.
Catch Lil’ Chano on his “Magnificent Coloring World Tour,” going on until November 21st.
Shoutout Chance for being a real one and messing with LA’s No.1 hip-hop station, Power 106.
