For a while now fans of Nipsey Hussle and YG have begged for a joint project from both L.A. artists. They have collaborated on a plethora of singles since they broke into the industry. Both rappers definitely have the talent and chemistry to make it happen.
In a recent interview with Billboard Neighbahood Nip revealed that their “FDT (F**k Donald Trump)” song was intended to be on ‘America’s Most Wanted’, their collaborative project. It ultimately landed on YG’s album.
“”FDT” was for the YG and Nip Hussle album, and you heard how crazy that shit came out? He put that on the album and was like, “F**k that, I’m done.” And I understand that. Those sessions were sessions for the collab project. We went into Mustard’s studio every day. Young Thug came through. A lot of songs that wound up on different projects happened in there,” he explained.
He continued saying that the possibility of the collaborative project which was originally announced in 2013 was still a possibility.
“The idea is definitely not dead. Life happens. He got a solo career and I got a solo career. He got a kid and I got kids. That’s something the West wants, and we’re gonna do it, and we’re gonna call it ‘America’s Most Wanted’,” he said.
After hearing “Last Time I Checked” off Nip’s ‘Victory Lap’ album, it is safe to say that the desire of a collaborative project has been revived. I would love to hear a Terrace Martin produced, YG & Nip collab album featuring some of the West Coast’s heavyweights.
What do you think? Would you like to hear a collab album from these two? Tell us in the comments below.
