We can hopefully expect more new Mobb Deep music with the unfortunate passing of Prodigy las month. Growing up on Prodigy and Havoc’s deadly verbatim and killer lyricism, I’m here for it!

Alchemist and Mobb Deep have collaborated on several tracks like “Hold You Down,” “The Realest,” “Got It Twisted,” and “The Infamous” to name a few. Adding to the collection, Alchemist drops an unheard Mobb Deep collaboration called “Try My Hand.”

Just a month of Prodigy’s passing, Alchemist shares the track as part of his and Budgie’s A-L-C’s ‘The Good Book, Vol. 2′. On the track Prodigy raps about his status in hip-hop with boastful lyrics that penetrate through the production.

“I got the best of all time verse / My shit quotable / Remarkable rap, I stand out.” Later, he addresses his bothersome haters: “You’re like a comment on IG, nobody cares / Crawl back under that rock, the giants is here,” raps P.

Prodigy performed in Vegas over the weekend along with Mobb Deep’s second member, Havoc, Ghostface Killah, Ice-T, KRS One, Onyx, and others as part of the “Art of Rap” tour. Last week he also performed at Hot 97’s “Summer Jam” concert.

In the early 90s, Prodigy along with Havoc created Mobb Deep in the Queensbridge section of New York City. The duo spawned eight albums with their biggest hits being “Shook Ones” and “Quiet Storm”. In Paul Edward’s 2009 “How To Rap” book he called the group, “one of the most critically acclaimed hardcore East Coast Hip-Hop groups.” Prodigy also released eight albums of his own and his biggest solo hit was “Keep It Thoro”.

Rest In Power, Prodigy.
