WizKid is staying hot. Following his collaborations with Drake, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, the Nigerian crooner hooks up with Major Lazer on the summer-ready “Naughty Ride”.
The StarBoy continues to work on his forthcoming mixtape ‘Sounds From the Other Side’, set to drop on July 14th.
It’s been two years since Major Lazer released their ‘Peace Is the Mission’ project. To much of their fans delight, the trio of producers dropped their surprise 6-track ‘Know No Better’ EP. The project is led by the title track “Know No Better” featuring Travis Scott, Quavo, and Camila Cabello.
Accompanied by a video, the title track has the collaborators showing off their skills over the bouncy Major Lazer production. The video is shot in first-person and takes the viewer around the world, where pages that read “Know No Better” are posted in different locations.
Nicki Minaj and PARTYNEXTDOOR poke fun at the state of phone dependency that occurs in this day and age in the video for Major Lazer’s “Run Up”.
The Paul, Luc, and Martin-directed video begins with PND walking into a house party filled with technology-obsessed partiers that take selfies, text and operate their cell phones while dancing, kissing, drinking, and swimming. The following clip shows Nicki getting dolled up while simultaneously using her phone and eventually dancing with friends on a roof while on a FaceTime call.
“Run Up” is the first single off Major Lazer’s ‘Music Is the Weapon’ expected to be released later this year. Watch the video for “Run Up” below.
In an interview with Krystal Bee from Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Diplo shared that he originally wanted to snatch a verse from Nicki Minaj for his booty shaking single, “Bubble Butt.” Not insinuating anything but that would have a fitting feature.
When asked if he would try to place her on another song and which one would it be, he replied, “I can make booty songs all day long.” I’d be down to hear Nicki on a Major Lazer track. Make it happen, Diplo!
