Lil Yachty Uncovers ‘Lil Boat 2’ Cover Art & Release Date [PEEP]

Taking a page out of the Migos’ book, fellow Quality Control Music artist, Lil Yachty opts to release the sequel to his 2016 mixtape ‘Lil Boat 2’ on the anniversary date of March 9th. He made the announcement on Twitter and posted the cover art as well, which shows him in the water wearing two massive, iced-out gold chains.

Just last year the Atlanta rapper released his debut album ‘Teenage Emotions’ that peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and included singles like “Forever Young” featuring Diplo, “Peek A Boo” featuring Migos, and “Bring it Back.”

The album drew a lot of controversy and created a heated battle with former “Everyday Struggle” host Joe Budden, who harshly critiqued the album and also made a spectacle of Yachty’s appearance on the show.

New Video: Quality Control – “Ice Tray” Feat. Quavo & Lil Yachty [WATCH]

Quality Control Music put out their ‘Control the Streets: Vol. 1’ compilation a few weeks ago that included a few bangers. One of the standouts on the project is a collaboration between labelmates, Quavo and Lil Yachty. The combination uses the track to come at Joe Budden, whom they have beefed with for most of this year.

Quavi co-directed the video along with Millicent Hailes. The visual is fueled like the song, by the Joe Budden beef. Quavo and Hailes recreate the set from Complex’s “Everyday Struggle” as they ridicule Budden with a character named Jumpoff Joe Beezy.

The compilation is loaded with 30-songs including “MotorSport,” which brought Nicki Minaj and Cardi B together on a single along with the Migos. Other singles on the project include “Too Hotty,” “She For Keeps” featuring Quavo and Nicki Minaj, and “Um Yeah,” which allows Offset and Cardi to display their chemistry.

Other features on the album include Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, Kodak Black, Hoodrich Pablo, and many more.

Curated by chief executive Pierre “Pee” Thomas and chief operating officer, Kevin “Coach K” Lee, the duo has created a working formula that has been a major talk in the music industry. Macklemore was reportedly involved in a head-on collision with a drunk driver earlier this week. In the Jason Koenig & Ben Haggerty co-directed video for his recent single, “Marmalade,” he ironically drives around as a kid with his collaborator, Lil Yachty.

Putting on for Seattle, the kid version of Mac is shown rocking a Supersonics jacket as he alternates driving with the kid version of Yachty, after stealing his father’s keys and cash. The two ride along with other friends, on a mission to steal Tom Brady’s jersey, which they intend to trade to Marshawn Lynch for games in a giant pool.

Attacking the hip-hop and EDM blend, Steve Aoki crafted a hell of a song with “Night Call” featuring Migos and Lil Yachty. The single is a standoff off his recently-released ‘Kolony’ album that includes features from other hip-hop acts like 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Lil Uzi Vert, and others.

Steve dropped the visuals for the single today, which is all shot in one room includes trippy graphics and is headlined by the Migos, Quavo, who handles the hook smoothly.

New Music: Macklemore – “Marmalade” Feat. Lil Yachty [LISTEN]

macklemore-marmalade

Officially without his long time running mate, Ryan Lewis, Macklemore is going for a different, fresh sound on his upcoming album. After recently releasing the single and video for “Glorious” featuring Skylar Grey, Mack strikes back with “Marmalade” featuring Lil Yachty.

“Marmalade” sounds a little bit like D.R.A.M.’s “Broccoli” with the production. Undoubtedly Macklemore is aiming for a radio single with this one. It definitely sounds like it will get radio spins and eventually become an “A” record at urban stations.

New Music: A-Trak – “Believe” Feat. Quavo & Lil Yachty [LISTEN]

unnamed

A-Trak has spent a majority of his week teasing his new single “Believe” featuring Quavo and Lil Yachty. It started a few days ago with the superstar DJ/Producer singing along to the track with cutouts of the collaborators.

“Believe” has a nice structured sound and the production sounds like it was crafted for Quavo and Yachty from the beginning. French Montana and Swae Lee already have a summer anthem with “Unforgettable” and DJ Khaled has shot his shot with the Rihanna and Bryson Tiller-assisted “Wild Thoughts.” Perhaps this is the next song to make this an even hotter summer.

On a call from Ibiza, A-Trak told Beats1 in a phone interview how the song came about.

“[We] recorded the song hanging out,” he said. “I wanted that to come through in the vibe of the song, that this is a hangout thing, having fun. Even the way that they’re trading lines back and forth. To me, it reminds me of the way that Jadakiss and Styles P used to do it. People don’t do that enough anymore, just trading bars.”
