Jay-Z and Beyonce introduced Carter royalty to the world on Saturday, January 7th. The singer delivered a healthy baby girl named Ivy Blue Carter via a scheduled C-section. Another fun princess Carter fact, she was delivered on the fourth floor of Lennox Hill Hospital in New York. She had the whole fourth floor rented out to herself for $1.3 million. Pssssh, hip hop royalty. Oh and yeah… there’s already a twitter for the baby.
UPDATE: Confirmed name is Blue Ivy Carter.

And we all thought the baby was going to be named Brooklyn!

I wonder how that convo went down.
2011 will be known as the year of planking, the year when people turned in their BlackBerry in for an iPhone (RIP Steve Jobs), the year we lost musical greats Amy Winehouse and Heavy D and the year when Jay-Z and Beyonce produced an heir to the throne. 2011 also marked a great year in music.
Since everyone is doing a top-something-of-2011 post, I thought it would only be right and put our two cents in and give you the eleven albums/mixtapes that I vibed with in twenty eleven. Some of the projects you may be surprised with and some you may already have on your list but whatever the cause is check what I found post-worthy after the jump.
Just when you thought The Throne wouldn’t top 10 times. Jay-Z and Kanye West end their tour in Vancouver last night and performed the monster hit 11 times. Way to end with a bang, right?
You can break this record yourself by playing the song 12 times in the comfort of your own home. Go ahead.
More episodes from VOYR’s backstage pass at Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s Watch The Throne tour.

The royal duo, Jay-Z and Kanye West, continue their backstage series with a recent stop in Chicago on the Watch The Throne tour. Kanye takes us around his neighborhood in Chi-Town. By the way, if you haven’t hit up a WTT show yet… do so. Trust me.
It’s official. Los Angeles now holds the record for most “Niggas In Paris” played in one night. We ball’d so hard 9 times.
The Throne didn’t defeat their previous record of playing “Ni**as In Paris” eight times (in Chicago) but they were pretty close last night in LA, playing the single seven times while making sure to shout out the man responsible for the beat, Hit-Boy.

“Excellence is the bare minimum.”
In this episode, Kanye takes us behind-the-scenes of The Throne’s show in Madison Square Garden.

Ok so… it seems like The Throne is determined to defeat their own record of playing “Ni**as in Paris” in a row on each tour date. Last night in Chicago, the duo performed the Hit-Boy-produced track eight times in a row. You can watch them perform NIP seven times here, if you’d like. There’s about 10 days left, depending one which of the three LA dates you will be attending, and by the time Jay-Z and Kanye West perform, will we be listening to “Ni**as In Paris” 12 times? If so, I’ll have my camera handy.

They should have played it 8 times on live TV.
