Rihanna Becomes The World’s Richest Female Musician [PEEP]

Rihanna was already the baddest gal in the world and today she becomes the world’s richest female musician.

The superstar songstress was given the title today by Forbes. Rih is only 31-years-old and has already amassed a fortune of $600-million putting her ahead of other boss women like Madonna ($570-million), Celine Dion ($450-million), and Beyoncé ($400-million).

The majority of her wealth doesn’t come from her successful musical career or hits though. Her partnership with French luxury giant LVMH, who co-owns her Fenty Beauty brand has brought in a lot of that change.

The makeup brand which launched in September 2017 has been a hit with a reported $100-million in sales in its first-weeks. It has reportedly garnered an estimated $570-million and is worth more than $3-billion, while her Savage X Fenty lingerie line is also break record sales and bringing in millions.

Rih doesn’t appear to be stopping and should continue to climb the wealth latter as last month she launched her Fenty fashion house in partnership with LVMH and became the first black woman to top the LVMH maison.

Congrats Rihanna baby. Holla at me if you still have my number. *WINK*

Diddy & Drake Lead Hip-Hop’s Highest Paid Artists In 2017 [PEEP]

Puff-Daddy-Drake-Getty

A conversation that is often had amongst hip-hop aficionados is who’s dominating the game in revenue. Thankfully the good folks over at Forbes compiled their yearly “World’s Highest-Paid Hip-Hop Artists,” featuring the 20 wealthiest musicians and moguls in the game.

Leading the pack at No. 1 with a total revenue of $130-million in earnings is none other than Diddy. As you now Diddy has his own television network in RevoltTV, Ciroc Vodka, DeLeon Tequila, Aqua Hydrate, still has a roster of talent at Bad Boy, gets royalty checks on the regular, and has other business ventures. In addition Puff sold his SeanJean clothing for $70-million earlier this year.

At No. 2 is Drizzy Drake with $94-million American dollars (not Canadian). A big chunk of The 6 God’s income comes from his music sales, touring revenue, and having endorsement deals with Apple, Nike/Jordan Brand, and Sprite also help tremendously. This figure should increase substantially when his $200-million LiveNation deal goes through.

Jay-Z comes in at No. 3 with  $42-million thanks to his Roc Nation label, TIDAL streaming service, Paper Planes clothing brand, Puma deal, and many other investments and business ventures.

Newcomers on this year’s list include Chance The Rapper at No. 5 with $33-million and Lil Yachty at No. 20 with $11-million. A notable name that didn’t make this year’s list is 50 Cent, who figures to be back on it once his STARZ and BET contract dollars come in.

Peep the complete Top 20 list below via Forbes.

Check Out The “Forbes Five” Hip-Hop Wealthiest Artist List Of 2017 [PEEP]

C_eSKqOU0AAJ5GZ

Once again Music Mogul/Businessman/Entrepreneur, Diddy tops the “Forbes Five” hip-hop’s wealthiest artist of 2017 list.

With a staggering $820-million estate, Diddy is closing in on billionaire status and takes the crown of hip-hop’s wealthiest acts again. His fortune comes mostly from his very lucrative Ciroc deal with Diageo, Revolt TV network, alkaline water brand AquaHydrate, Deleon Tequila, his “Bad Boy Reunion Tour,” and other unspecified investments. No Dirty Money needed here (pun intended).

Jay-Z isn’t too far from Diddy and is sure to become a billionaire soon as well. If you combine his fortune with wifey, Beyoncé’s they’ve already reached billionaire status. Hov’s hefty bank comes from his TIDAL streaming service, which is worth more than 10x than what the rapper paid for it. Sprint’s $200-million investment in the company also doesn’t hurt. Jay is also making money from selling his Roc Nation logo, which he was paid $200-million for,  as well as being a majority owner of Roc Nation, his film-TV deal with The Weinstein Company, and other side ventures.

Coming in at third place is LA’s very own, Dr. Dre. The Doctor is worth a reported $740-million with earnings from his 2014 selling of Beats headphones to Apple for $3-billion, a 14,000 square foot mansion in LA, which is now worth 20-percent more than the $40-million he purchased it for, other real estate property, royalties, and side ventures.

Birdman might not be paying his artists and maybe that’s why he’s eating so good. The Cash Money head-honcho takes the No. 4 slot with $110-million, thanks mostly to the success of Cash Money superstars like Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne. Put some “respek” on that.

Cash Money recording artist, Drake follows his boss with a No. 5 standing. Drizzy’s $90-million fortune is owed to the success of his music, touring, OVO record label and clothing, his Virginia Black whiskey, Apple music deal, and Nike and Jordan partnerships.

Who will become a billionaire first? Tell us in the comments below.

“FORBES FIVE” HIP-HOP LIST 2017

2. Jay Z – $810 million
3. Dr. Dre – $740 million
4. Birdman – $110 million
5. Drake – $90 million

VIEWS GOES PLATINUM IN A WEEK

In its first week Drake’s ‘Views’ went certified platinum and with the kind of units it’s moved so far, the album figures to go multiplatinum soon.

According to Drizzy’s label, Republic Records, ‘Views’ sold over a million units and was streamed over 250-million times on Apple Music in ironically, 6ix days.

The success of this album has Drake sitting on a pedestal in the hip-hop game, with numbers that only big Pop stars like Taylor Swift and Adele are able to conquer.

Mainstream songs on the album “One Dance,” “Hotline Bling,” and “Controlla” really helped propel sales and streams for the album.

‘Views’ is officially the most successful urban album of the year thus far. The album tops sales of Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’, Kanye West’s ‘The Life of Pablo’ and Rihanna’s ‘Anti’.

Drizzy will go on to host Saturday Night Live on May 14th. The second time the rapper will do so.

FORBES HIP-HOP FIVE LIST

Forbes released their annual “Forbes Five: Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists” list with some familiar names and a new one.

Diddy topped the list with an estimated net worth of $750-million for his stakes in Ciroc vodka, Revolt TV network, Aquahydrate alkaline water and SeanJohn clothing.

Dr. Dre came in at No. 2 with $710-millon much of which came with the sale of his Beats by Dre headphones brand to Apple. Last year’s N.W.A. biopic also reeled in a nice amount of revenue. In addition he also has stocks in Apple and a plethora of real estate in Southern California.

Jay-Z cruised in at No. 3 with $610-millon for his TIDAL streaming service that has over 3-million subscribers and also a slew of other business ventures including D’usse and Ace of Spades champagne.

At No. 4 was Bryan “Birdman” Williams with $110-million for the success of multiplatinum selling artists: Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj. Put some “respeck” on that.

The final and newest member of the list at No. 5 is OVO head-honcho, Drake with $60-million. The music sales definitely helped, but Drizzy owes most of it to touring and partnerships with Jordan, Apple and Sprite.

The combination of the moguls totaled over $2-billion combined.

50 Cent’s recent bankruptcy struggles kept him off the list this year.

See the full breakdown HERE.

KANYE GOING ON ‘TLOP’ TOUR

Kanye West already has one of the most successful albums of the year with ‘The Life Of Pablo,’ and he is looking to follow the success with a tour.

He teased ‘The Life Of Pablo’ tour on Steve Harvey’s show Tuesday saying he could be hitting the road in September.

“My tour game is unprecedented,” he bragged to Harvey. “So we’re going to go out in September I believe, and we’re just working on some of the ideas right now.”

I’m excited to see the kind of creativity he will exude for the tour, from the merch to the stage design.

The tour is only in the planning stages, so there are no dates out or opening acts on the bill as of now. Although, it is safe to assume he will probably take his artist Desiigner on tour with him after the success “Panda” has had.

FRENCH MONTANA SIGNS TO EPIC RECORDS

Epic Records has been busy adding to their roster lately with the recent signings of DJ Khaled, Rick Ross and Puff Daddy. The label announced this week that French Montana was the newest signee.

The partnership of Puffy’s Bad Boy Records with Epic had a lot of influence in the signing of Montana, being he is also signed to Bad Boy. Take that, take that, take that.

It’s been three year’s since Montana dropped a studio album, in the meantime he’s been supplying the streets with anthems like, “All The Way Up,” and mixtapes.

His next album will have the Epic Records stamp on it.

SPACE JAM 2 TO STARR LeBRON JAMES?

Several sources have confirmed that Space Jam 2 will be starring LeBron James, but according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst “no deal is in place,” although a deal is expected to be done soon.

The director of Fast & Furious, Justin Lin, was announced Monday as the director for the upcoming sequel.

Space Jam came out in 1996 and raked in $230.4-million worldwide and starred Michael Jordan in a box office monster that has since became a classic.

LBJ looks to be MJ’s successor in the series. Let’s see if James can come close to the success Jordan brought to the film, because he hasn’t been able to match it on the court.
