Drake Gives A Tour Of His Mom’s Crib For ‘Degrassi: Unscripted’ (Video)
Back when Drake was on Degrassi he gave a tour of his mom’s crib for Degrassi: Unscripted. Drake showed his music collection, and even spit a couple of bars.
I been a mess since every girl I left went and got a new man/ But I’m the new version of Fresh Prince/ And the Benz got bump for real/ I switch wifey every season like Uncle Phil.

Ty Dolla $ign ft. Joe Moses – Paranoid
Really starting to play this new Ty dolla $ign both on radio and in the clubs. I know I’m not the only one that can completely relate to the lyrics in this song (haha). I think this song has a great feel for the summer and it’s something that both guys and girls can vibe to. If you don’t have the Beach House 2 mixtape go download it now.
Migos ft. Drake – Versace
I’ve been hearing about the Migos for a minute they are lighting up the streets in Atlanta. This song is so catchy it’s probably my biggest song in the club right now. Then when you add Drizzy to it you already know what that is. Drake’s verse has everyone ready for his new album #NWTS… “The album is coming September just wait on it.”
Jay-Z & Beyonce – Part II (On The Run)
If you know me you already know that #MCHG is my favorite album out right now. First off I want to congratulate Hov for selling 1.5 million in the first week. Nothing like hearing Mr & Mrs. Carter on the same song. Not ready for the settle down just yet but I’d be lying if said I wouldn’t want a relationship like these two.
So now that were talking music last week I give you my top 3 favorite albums this week I wanna talk about the 2 music stories that come to my mind first.
The first one is I think it was really dope that J.Cole and Drake issued an apology in regards to the controversial Autism lyric.
I said something in a rap that was offensive to those with Autism. Feel terrible. A tweeted apology wouldn’t do. http://t.co/cyMbXubz3T
— J. Cole (@JColeNC) July 21, 2013
“I’m artistic, you ni**as is autistic, retarded” When I first heard the song it didn’t strike me as offensive but putting myself in the shoes of a mother with an autistic child definitely made me change my perspective. I commend Drake and Cole for stepping up and embracing the learning lesson and as people offering an apology.
The second topic that comes to mind was possibly one of the craziest tweets I have ever seen in my life KANYE WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!! LOL! I’m totally a fan and completely respect the brilliant mind of Kanye West I think his tweet about having the greatest verse of all time is RIDICULOUS!
I open the debate… The 2nd verse of New Slaves is the best rap verse of all time….meaning … OF ALL TIME IN THE HISTORY OF RAP MUSIC, PERIOD
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) July 20, 2013
I do enjoy the conversation but too many greats have come before Kanye for this to be much of a conversation. LOL
I will offer this I thought it was extremely ironic when listening to verse 2 of “New Slaves” that Kanye is ranting about reporters getting in his face.
“So go and grab the reporters, So I can smash their recorders.”
and then I listened to verse 2 of Jay Z’s “Holy Grail” and I basically hear Jay Z telling people who complain about media hassling to chill out things could be worse.
“I got haters in the paper, photo shoots with paparazzi Can’t even take my daughter for a walk, see ’em by the corner store I feel like I’m cornered off enough is enough, I’m calling this off”
This fame hurt but this chain works, I think back you asked the same person
If this is all you had to deal with, nigga deal with, this shit ain’t work
This light work, camera snapping, my eyes hurt
Niggas dying back where I was birthed, fuck your IRIS and the IRS
Get the hell up off your high horse
You got the shit that niggas die for, dry yours
Why you mad, take the good with the bad
Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water”
Big Brother vs. Little Brother coincidence? I doubt it
I’m a huge fan of Kanye West and I love what he stands for musically, I just think he should focus a little less on the challenges with the paparazzi and continue pushing the culture forward and making great music.
A new album in store this week that I recommend you go get is Rich Gang. Birdman and the homies put together a great album with everyone from Kendrick Lamar to Rick Ross on it.
Also a mixtape you should download if you haven’t already, is Problem’s The Separation mixtape go download that now it’s free and it’s quality LA music.
For more of the songs I’m into and my opinions on top stories listen to J Cruz and myself on the #LIFTOFF every night Monday-Friday from 9-11 on Power 106.
Until Next week enjoy these songs, love music and treat others how you want to be treated.
Drake Apologizes For J.Cole Lyric (News)
Drake took it to his blog and apologized for J.Cole’s Autism lyric in “Jodeci Freestyle” and said that the lyric would be taken off.
J.Cole wrote a beautiful and moving apology to individuals and families affected by autism who were understandably hurt by a verse in “Jodeci Freestyle”. I share responsibility and offer my sincerest apologies for the pain this has caused. Individuals with autism have brilliant and creative minds, and their gifts should not be disparaged or discounted. This was a learning lesson for both of us, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to try to right this wrong. J. Cole and I believe that it is the right, responsible, and respectful decision to remove the lyric from the song.
J.Cole Apologizes Over Autism Lyric (News)
J.Cole apologized today for his lyric on Drake’s song ”Jodeci Freestyle”.
I said something in a rap that was offensive to those with Autism. Feel terrible. A tweeted apology wouldn't do. http://t.co/cyMbXubz3T
— J. Cole (@JColeNC) July 21, 2013
Recently there’s been a trend that includes rappers saying something offensive, only to be attacked for it in the media and pressured to apologize. I have to be completely honest and say there’s a part of me that resents that. I view rap similar to how I view comedy. It’s going to ruffle feathers at times. It’s going to go “too far”. I do not believe that an apology is needed every time someone is offended, especially when that apology is really only for the sake of saving an endorsement or cleaning up bad press.
With that said, this is not the case today. This letter is sincere. This apology IS necessary.
In a recent verse on the song “Jodeci Freestyle”, I said something highly offensive to people with Autism. Last week, when I first saw a comment from someone outraged about the lyric, I realized right away that what I said was wrong. I was instantly embarrassed that I would be ignorant enough say something so hurtful. What makes the crime worse is that I should have known better.
To the entire Autism community who expressed outrage, I’m moved and inspired by your passion, and I’m amazed at how strong you are as a unit. I have now read stories online from parents about their struggles and triumphs with raising an Autistic child and I admire how incredibly strong you have to be to do so. It’s touching. It also makes what I said even more embarrassing for me. I feel real shame. You have every right to be angry.
To anyone suffering from Autism, either mildly or severely, I am sorry. I’m bound to make mistakes in my life, but in my heart I just want to spread Love.
I want to educate myself more on Autism, and I’ll gladly own my mistake and serve as an example to today’s generation that there’s nothing cool about mean-spirited comments about someone with Autism. People with this disorder and their loved ones have to go through so much already, the last thing they need is to hear something as ignorant as what I said. I understand.
To the parents who are fighting through the frustrations that must come with raising a child with severe autism, finding strength and patience that they never knew they had; to the college student with Asperger’s Syndrome; to all those overcoming Autism. You deserve medals, not disrespect. I hope you accept my sincere apology.
Much Love -Cole
