Lil Wayne Wins Lawsuit Against Birdman & Cash Money + Reaches Settlement [PEEP]

The legal battle between Lil Wayne and Birdman was definitely a 12-round bout that finally ends with Weezy coming out victorious.

According to The Blast, Wayne came to an agreement with Birdman and Universal Records, that he will be free from his Cash Money contract and also reached a hefty settlement of over $10-million in retribution for his work.

With the agreement comes Weezy being freed from Cash Money Records, who he has been with since he broke into the music scene back in 1996. The agreement also allows him to release his long-awaited ‘Tha Carter V’ album, which will be released by Universal.

Back in 2015 Weezy filed his lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money for $51-million to terminate his contract. He accused Birdman of owing him and $8-million advance for ‘Tha Carter V’ plus an extra $2-million upon completion, which is what he ends up settling for.

Although there had been several shots fired between Wayne and Birdman since 2015, the two rappers have been spotted together in the recent months. They’ve been spotted at Miami nightclubs earlier this year. However The Blast reports there is “no relationship” currently between the two, which could mean they might’ve been attempting to reach a settlement outside of court.

Birdman said a few months ago that ‘Tha Carter V’ would be released this year, saying in an interview, “We’ll get that this year, I’m guaranteeing you gon’ get it this year.”

Tunechi’s attorney Ron Sweeney confirmed the agreement with Cash Money Records, but didn’t specify the terms. He did say that Weezy is “happy” and that should be all that matters.

While at Cash Money Wayne released a total of 12 albums beginning with his debut album in 1999, ‘Tha Block Is Hot’. He’s also released a plethora of mixtapes under the label.

Stay tuned for any more updates as they unfold.

Lil Wayne Reps Roc-A-Fella At Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival [WATCH]

lil-wayne-flog-gnaw

On various songs in Lil Wayne’s catalog, he has let it be known he is a “Muthafuckin’ Cash Money Millionaire.”

Saturday night the crowd at the “Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival” were caught off guard when Weezy altered the chorus of “I’m Me” with “I know that ain’t fair / but I don’t care, I’m a muthafuckin’ Cash Money R-O-C millionaire.”

It is a mystery whether Wayne is in discussions to join Roc Nation or if he was just looking to irk Birdman (who he’s suing for $51-million) by showing his allegiance to Jay-Z.

What is known is that Weezy partnered with Jay-Z as a co-owner of TIDAL a year ago. Could the Louisiana rapper be working on a new deal with Jay?

Chance The Rapper, Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz Perform “No Problem” On “Ellen” [VIDEO]

Ain’t no labels stopping Chance The Rapper, bih.

Lil Chano along with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz went on “Ellen” to perform “No Problem” and trashed a record label in the process. Wayne took the trashing of the record label a little further, by going in on his former label, Cash Money.

Weezy tweaked the lyrics in his verse by rapping, “If Cash Money tries to stop me / I’ma let ’em rob me / Yeah, right! Like Ryan Lochte.”

Safe to say the Weezy, Cash Money beef isn’t going to be over any time soon.

NEW Drake – “HYPE” Remix Feat. Lil Wayne

If you thought Drake was gonna take a break from making music after releasing an album, guess again. The 6 God was featured on YG’s “Why You Always Hatin?” which premiered on OVO Sound Radio today. Oliver who was hosting the show, followed that premiere up with another one — a remix to Drake’s “Hype” featuring none other than Lil Tunechi. Good to see these two making music together again, even if they might’ve not been in the studio together when this one was recorded.
