Georgia’s Terrell Hines comes through a remix to his 2019 single, “Get Up”.
The song is just as relevant now as the day it came out, dealing with police brutality in the wake of the horrendous murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and countless others.
Vince Staples joins Terrell on the track to push the line and take it to a whole other level. This is a call to arms and a reminder of the value of black life. Vince spits, “I say what I want, I’m not PC/ you know black folks killed when police please/ Just seen one on the TV/ Make it about 3 this week.”
Of course Vince is repping heavy for the Norf side of Long Beach while Terrell is from Georgia. This remix will be appearing on Terrell Hines debut, ‘Portal One: The Mixtape’, look out for it on August 7th.
