Hailing from the west side of Compton, rapper Liife is primed to be the next big thing out the Hub City. Rapping like he has a chip on his shoulder the up-and-comer is reminiscent of The Game when he first broke in the industry with his gritty style.
Liife brings us his new single “Blood On My Chucks” today, which is a gang banging ballad, where he tells stories about life in the hood and rides for his city on the hook rapping, “puttin’ on for my city but you knew that, yeah.”
The new single also comes accompanied with a SEVENEIGHT-directed video that highlights what Liife raps about on the track, as he goes on a mission with his OG and puts in work for his turf.
Liife described the single as a “rendition of west coast music” and details that “the whiney sound in the beat, the story telling” was what west coast music was “always about.”
He goes on to say, “Growing up in Compton, all our idols told stories over dark beats and when I heard this one, I was inspired. I’m honored to be premiering it with the LA leakers, they’ve always been a major support system for artists coming out the city.”
Shoutout Liife for shooting this over and make sure to bang “BLOOD ON MY CHUCKS” below.
