News: Game (@thegame) Announces Album Title

With a video for The City (featuring Kendrick Lamar) ready to be released and a new mixtape in the works, Game reveals to XXL that he will be titling his fifth studio album F.I.V.E. (Fear Is Victory’s Evolution).

The meaning behind that is like—me as a rapper, you as a journalist, Kobe as a basketball player—you gotta be afraid to do something, or have those butterflies in your stomach. We all get that feeling. Before you did your first interview, you probably was like, ‘Damn, I don’t want to ask the wrong questions. I want to do this right.’ Me, before I wrote my first rap, or the first time I was in the booth. Fear. But then fear is victory’s evolution. After a while, you become a dope journalist, I become a dope rapper, Kobe is Kobe. You achieve and you pass over that fear. Now it ain’t fear; it’s just victory. It’s victory of all.

News: A$AP Rocky, Ross, Nas, DMX, The LOX On Swizz Beatz (@THEREALSWIZZZ) Mixtape

During a talk with MTV, Swizz gives a few more details about his upcoming mixtape..

When the Rick Ross’ mixtape came out that inspired me to do a mixtape because sometimes people need to get back into the element of what you do, since they see you doing so many different ventures. My first single is with me and A$AP Rocky.

People have to know that you can take it back to the basics and keep it hip-hop and keep it fun and just do what made you the person that you are. That’s why I think this mixtape is important. I’m vibing with Nas on it, Rick Ross, DMX, The Lox, people that everybody’s like ‘Man, when are you guys gonna do a track together?’ and ‘When is this happening? I thought the mixtape was a great way to bring that to life.
