Mac Miller Dead At 26 [REPORT]

I’m sad to report Mac Miller has passed away from what sources are saying is “an apparent drug overdose.” He was only 26-years-old.

According to TMZ law enforcement has said that the platinum-selling, multi-talented rapper was found at his San Fernando Valley home unresponsive around noon today and pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities were called by a male, who made the 911 call from Mac’s house.

Miller had been very transparent and open about his battles with drug addiction and substance abuse throughout the years and used his music as an outlet. Back in May, following his breakup with Ariana Grande he was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run after crashing his Mercedes G-Wagon into a utility pole. Many saw it as a cry for help.

Since making his way on the music scene in 2007, he released a handful of mixtapes starting with ‘But My Mackin’ Ain’t Easy’ and led by ‘K.I.D.S.’ He went on to release five studio albums beginning with his debut, ‘Blue Slide Park’. His recently-released ‘Swimming’ album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Mac was set to kick off his “Swimming Tour” in support of the album on October 27th with Thundercat and J.I.D.

Many of his peers have paid their respects on social media following the news, sharing short stories, thoughts, and prayers.

Rest easy, Mac.

Mac Miller Performs On NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concert” [WATCH]

Along with Travis Scott and YG, Mac Miller also released an album last Friday called ‘Swimming’. Although the other two releases may have overshadowed his latest offering, that’s not stopping Mac from making his rounds to promote it.

Mac took NPR’s music headquarters for an appearance on the network’s “Tiny Desk Concert.” Joined by his band and Thundercat, the Pittsburgh rapper ran through some of his ‘Swimming’ singles like “Small Worlds,” “What’s the Use?,” and “2009.”

Mac Miller Releases New Album ‘Swimming’ [STREAM]

Go ‘Swimming’ with Mac Miller.

Back in 2016 Mac dropped The Divine Feminine’, which was focused on his romance with his now-ex Ariana Grande. Following their publicized split up, a hit-and-run arrest, and other issues, he releases his fifth studio album, ‘Swimming’.

Containing 13-songs and no features, Mac handles the work on his own to fully showcase his skills and detail his struggles. The album also includes previously-released singles, “What’s the Use?,” “Small Worlds,” and “Self Care.”

In an interview with Zane Lowe, Mac said this album was different because he didn’t put the pressure on himself like he did with previous albums.

“This time it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to say, what kind of music I wanted to make, and it was just a lot of experimenting,” he told Zane Lowe on Beats 1. “So we finally landed on some type of a path and I took my time.”
