ScHoolboy Q Speaks On Mac Miller’s Death & Says He’s Delaying The Album So He Can Cope [PEEP]

For the first time since the passing of his friend, Mac Miller, ScHoolboy Q has made a public appearance and spoke on the passing.

During a recent show, the TDE rapper addressed the tragic death of Mac saying, he had to do the show because it’s what Mac would’ve wanted him to do.

He went on to talk about his upcoming album telling the crowd, “Y’all know I only drop albums every two years, right…But in the process of dropping every two years, I ended up making four albums.”

Q continues saying that he doesn’t feel right putting anything out with the passing of Mac.

“But listen, with my ni**a gone right now, I just don’t feel right putting out an album. As y’all can tell, I’m not my real self right now. I shouldn’t even be here right now. But like I said, my n***a Mac would not want me to be in the house sad. He would clown me for some weird shit. I’m here today because it’s no way he would allow me to sit in the house and be a little bitch. I’m not gonna be a little bitch.”

Continuing on the same topic, Q assured the fans his album will be coming but he’s not ready to be asked about Mac’s death during the album’s promo run and therefore he’s delaying it until he’s ready.

“I’ma go back, and I’ma figure out when I’ma put this fucking album out, because y’all are gonna get this album,” he says. “I promise that. I’m just not ready to walk into the radio station and the first thing they ask me is, ‘So Mac Miller…’ I’m not ready to deal with those questions. So, right now, I’m not ready to put nothing out.”

ScHoolboy and Mac were great friends and even worked on music together, collaborating on tracks like 2012’s “Gees” and 2014’s “Friends.”

Back in August, TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith announced that Q’s follow-up to 2016’s ‘Blank Face LP’, was “90 to 95 percent done.”

Miller passed away from what is being called an overdose at his home in Studio City, California on Friday, Sept. 7th. He was 26. The L.A. County Coroner is still waiting for toxicology results to determine the official cause of death.

After closing out weekend 1 of Coachella with a phenomenal headlining performance, Kendrick Lamar drops the visuals for “DNA.” off his recently-released, critically-acclaimed ‘DAMN.’ album.
