Lana Del Rey releases a dimly lit visual, filled with closeups and flickering lights, to accompany her cover of 70s ballad “Chelsea Hotel No 2,” originally performed by Leonard Cohen. Quick fact: the single was written after his short-lived relationship with Janis Joplin and the Chelsea Hotel is a cultural landmark located in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.
Lana captured the tone pretty accurately.

Who are we to complain when we get the chance to post a picture of Lana Del Rey rocking out with her tongue strategically placed between her index finger and pinky? Anyways, there are two good things about this post. One, the picture, and two, the Das Racist remix of LDR’s “National Anthem.” Never thought I would hear the trio place some witty wordplay on the fan-favorite track. Pleasant surprise, indeed.

A$AP Rocky looks dapper in Lana Del Rey‘s visual interpretation of “National Anthem.” Sticking with her usual vintage-shot virals, LDR comes off as sort of a Jackie O character which in turn would make Rocky, JFK? Full video should be out soon.

UPDATE: Rocky pulled the track off The Kickdrums mixtape so it can be exclusively featured on his debut album. Guess we’re gonna have to wait to hear that one. [rapfix]

Back at the beginning of this year, A$AP Rocky told us he had a song with Lana Del Rey. He also told us he had a crush on her. No word on any developments with that crush, but now we’ve got a preview of the track “Ridin'” from Lana and Rocky, with production handled by The Kickdrums. The track will appear on The Kickdrums’ Follow The Leaders mixtape, due tomorrow.

Spotted this parody over at Complex and since I love Lana Del Rey and Super Mario Bros., I had to post it. Does it really surprise you that the first lady of video games starred in the parody? Her facial expressions are priceless.
Spotted some of The Theorist‘s piano covers over at TOW then ended up on his YouTube page and found all these covers of some of my favorite songs. His latest piano cover is of “Ni**as In Paris” but I posted some of my favorite covers from the Canadian musician after the jump.
