TROY AVE CHARGED WITH MURDER

An unfortunate shooting broke out at T.I.’s concert in New York City earlier this week that lead to three shot and one murdered.

The man murdered was Ronald McPhatter, 33, a member of Troy Ave’s BSB entourage. McPhatter was an associate of Troy’s and also his personal trainer.

In a video released by the venue you can see Troy retaliating for the shooting of his deceased friend. Troy was later charged with attempted murder for shooting in an open club.

T.I. had nothing to do with the shooting and later released a statement on his socials that read:

Let’s hope senseless acts of violence like this don’t continue in the future.

GUCCI MANE RELEASED

For months hip-hop fans tweeted and sported shirts that read “Free Gucci.” This week the Atlanta rapper was released from a federal correctional facility in Terre Haute, Indiana, after serving roughly 39 months on weapons charges.

Guwop is known to be a workhorse and wasted no time getting back to work. In less than 24 hours of being free, he released a track titled “First Day Out Tha Feds,” which was followed up with a mixtape.

‘First Day Out Tha Feds’ the mixtape dropped last night at fittingly, 10:17 p.m. — an homage to the rapper’s 1017 Bricksquad label.

In just one day the mixtape was streamed over a million times! Good to see Gucci back out here. Stream the full mixtape below:

THE WEEKND & BELLY CANCEL APPEARANCE ON KIMMEL

Apparently YG and Nipsey Hussle aren’t the only two names in hip-hop that feel a certain way about Donald Trump. The Weeknd and Belly recently canceled their scheduled performance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ because they didn’t want to be associated with the Republican delegate according to The Associated Press.

Both XO artists were in LA this week to record their performance for the song “Might Not” before learning Trump was going to be on the same episode causing them to pull out. Read Belly’s statement below:

“I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race,” Belly said in a statement. “I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with.”

“I’m here on a campaign of positivity and love and to contribute what I can to music,” Belly continued. “I create songs people go to sleep and wake up to, songs that they fall in love to. For me, being Muslim and being somebody that appreciates my access here in America, I love the fact that I’m able to be here. To play my part in this business is a privilege and a beautiful thing. The fact that I could lose that ability through the actions of someone such as Donald Trump isn’t right to me. At all.”

Nice to see artists with their stature take a stance.

ALL THE WAY UP REMIXES

One of the hottest songs of the year is Fat Joe & Remy Ma’s “All The Way Up,” produced by Cool & Dre.

When a song is as hot as “All The Way Up” everyone wants to hop on the remix or spit something to it. This week Jay-Z dropped some solid bars over the instrumental for the “official remix.”

Jigga wasn’t the only one to spit bars over the cold beat as Meek Mill and Fabolous also had a remix of their own, followed by Jadakiss.

Listen to all the remixes below and tell us in the comments which one you think is best.

L.A. TO HOST SUPERBOWL

The last time the Superbowl was hosted in L.A. was 1980! This week it was announced that the city will be hosting the event in 2021.

That’s a major victory for a city that finally got a NFL team after a drought of over 20 years. It came as no surprise tho with L.A. being a major market and a very attractive city.

Can’t wait to take part in all the festivities and the full experience. It’s gonna be litty!

Fat Joe & Remy Ma – “All The Way Up” (Remix) feat. Jay-Z (Audio)

There’s been a lot of chatter around the industry of Jay-Z releasing some new music. Yesterday, a remix of Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s “All The Way Up” was released and featured a vicious verse from Hov. The Roc Nation head honcho makes various references from his D’usse cognac to bragging about all his GRAMMYs, but none was bigger than the “Lemonade” reference on the track.

“You know you made it when the fact/ Your marriage made it is worth millions/ Lemonade is a popular drink and it still is/ Survival of the littest,” he spits at the beginning of the verse. Can’t wait to see what else is to come from Hovito. There’s been rumors about a track with Future and DJ Khaled, along with others. He should make a big splash this summer.

Shoutout to Pecas for making this happen and listen to the confidence in Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s verses. You can hear they’re all the way back! Good to see!

Ballin

Every day is Christmas if you’re Fat Joe, Wiz Khalifa and Teyana Taylor. In “Ballin’,” all three artists sing and spit a humble brag about their lavish lifestyles. With Illa The Producer and Infared on the boards, the catchy track is Fat Joe’s new single, available on iTunes, off his upcoming album.
