This past weekend at ComplexCon there were too many great panels where some BIG names spread knowledge and shared a lot of gems. One of the most coveted panels was Kendrick Lamar and Kobe Bryant’s discussion with Jinx from Complex.

Both LA heavyweights discussed their evolution, their greatness, stardom, becoming staples in their respective fields, their drive, the competitive nature of both rapping and basketball, and a lot more. Lamar also talked about the transition from K. Dot to Kung-Fu Kenny.

Catch all the gems below.

TBT – #ThrowBackTune Of The Week – “All Falls Down”

Chance The Rapper declared Kanye West “the greatest artist of this generation” in a recent interview with Complex.

In honor this week’s #ThrowBackTune is “All Falls Down” off of Kanye’s freshman album, ‘College Dropout.’

This song has a very powerful message and highlights Kanye’s ability to transcend meaningful messages in his songs. Something he did a lot in the early stages of his career.

Also seen in the video is a young Stacey Dash, before she turned on the culture. LOL.

Yeezy definitely has tremendous influence on the culture from being able to sell a plain white t-shirt for $500 to selling out arenas. However, I don’t know if I agree with Chance. What do you think?

Travi$ Scott graces the cover of ‘Complex’ magazine December/ January issue.

“My music isn’t rappity-rap-rap-rap. I base my music off of lifestyle and emotion—that’s why my music has a lot of chords, even if it’s a hard-ass joint. I consider myself an artist, which is, like, the most played term, but I believe it. Don’t get it twisted, I’m no bitch, n*gga got bars. But I’m not, like, super conscious. I don’t write, I just go in the booth. I’m attached to the beat. The beat speaks words. I love music.”

Nicki Minaj graced the cover of ‘Complex’ magazine’s Dec/Jan issue. Inside the mag Nicki talks about The PinkPrint, the successful singles, Drake, blogs and more.

You’re on Twitter all the time. Do you read what blogs write about you?

I’m not on blogs, so I didn’t know. People see me retweet stuff and they think I’m some Internet person but I’m not. A lot of times, with the controversy surrounding “Lookin’ Ass,” for example, I didn’t know anything about it until it was so late it would’ve been crazy for me to address it. Every now and then, people in my circle will say, “Did you know blah blah blah?” People on my team know I don’t want to hear any drama. I don’t want any negativity. I don’t want to hear what’s on the blog. I don’t care.

K.Dot graced the cover of Complex Magazine’s latest issue. Inside the mag Kendrick speaks on gearing up to release his sophomore album!

The child of Compton is gearing up to release the follow-up to his highly acclaimed major label debut. How do you follow a classic? How do you make sure your album checks off all the boxes after you told everyone with a microphone to do better? Who knows. We just hope Kendrick knows. Associate Editor, Insanul Ahmed, believes he does. Kendrick welcomed Insanul, along with photographers Coleman and B+, to L.A. to share just what is going through his head as he prepares for this momentous occasion. We got to watch him work and see how he creates songs. Our takeaway? Despite what we think, Kendrick doesn’t seem all that stressed. Is King Kendrick ready to assume the throne?
