New Music: Macklemore – “Marmalade” Feat. Lil Yachty [LISTEN]

macklemore-marmalade

Officially without his long time running mate, Ryan Lewis, Macklemore is going for a different, fresh sound on his upcoming album. After recently releasing the single and video for “Glorious” featuring Skylar Grey, Mack strikes back with “Marmalade” featuring Lil Yachty.

“Marmalade” sounds a little bit like D.R.A.M.’s “Broccoli” with the production. Undoubtedly Macklemore is aiming for a radio single with this one. It definitely sounds like it will get radio spins and eventually become an “A” record at urban stations.

Tyler, The Creator Performs “911 / Mr. Lonely” On “The Late Show” [WATCH]

tyler-colbert

Performing his ‘Flower Boy’ single, “911 / Mr. Lonely” for the first time, Tyler, The Creator turned into Don Cornelius and made “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” look like an episode of the ’70’s show, “Soul Train.”

Joined on stage with Steve Lacy, Tyler sang the lyrics to the song and has the entire crowd vibing out and dancing slow. Following the performance, Tyler tweeted, ““i sang on live tv and it sounded great. my voice control from chur bum to this album has gotten so much better.”

During the interview portion of the show, Tyler told Colbert that ‘Flower Boy’ had less of him rapping then his previous albums, because he “just wanted to produce and have people sing.”

New Music: Belly – “P.O.P.” [LISTEN]

1400x1400bb-94

With what appears to be the first single off his forthcoming project, Belly drops “P.O.P.” (acronym for “Power of Pussy”). Over the hypnotic production, the XO signee tells an x-rated story of what women do with the power of their lady part.

“Don’t be silly we really out here, you know / I never bring my circle around squares, you know / Stretch the pussy out like a lounge chair, ya hoe / Little brown hairs, I go downstairs below,” raps Belly.

We can hopefully expect more new Mobb Deep music with the unfortunate passing of Prodigy las month. Growing up on Prodigy and Havoc’s deadly verbatim and killer lyricism, I’m here for it!

Jay-Z Admits To Letting Go Of His Ego In “Kill Jay Z” Footnotes [WATCH]

kill-jay-z-1-600x450

Every Friday Jay Z has been sharing a new video off his ‘4:44’ album. Along with the video Hov gives his ideology behind the single with footnotes. This past Friday dropped the visuals for “Kill Jay Z” and now we’ve got the footnotes.

A standout off the album, “Kill Jay Z” has Hov getting personal with listeners by talking about nearly killing his brother, cheating on Beyoncé, dissing Kanye West, and more. One of the standout things Jay admits in the footnotes is “killing off” his ego.

It’s really about the ego,” He says in the video. “Killing off the ego so we can have this conversation in a place of vulnerability and honesty. JAY-Z the public persona couldn’t have this conversation. It’s really Shawn Carter speaking to JAY-Z. And he has to convince him to move aside.”

The footnotes includes additional commentary from  Chris Rock, Charlamagne Tha God, Mahershala Ali, Van Jones, Trevor Noah, Anthony Anderson, and Michael Che share their thoughts on how ego affects people.

New Video: A$AP Rocky – “RAF” Feat. Quavo & Playboi Carti [WATCH]

Turning a fashion show into a music video, A$AP Rocky, Quavo, and Playboi Carti show off their collection of RAF SIMONS clothing in the visuals for “RAF,” which also features Frank Ocean and Lil Uzi Vert. The latter duo does not appear in the video however.

Filled with trippy cutouts and VHS-like, grainy film Rocky, Quavo, and Carti perform their verses while trying on different “RAF” cuts. The video could have easily been part of a RAF SIMONS campaign.

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN.’ Album Earns Double Platinum Certification [PEEP]

kendrick-lamar-damn-2x-platinum

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN.’ album has already been proclaimed by many as the best hip-hop album of the year. Dot’s case got stronger today with his third studio album earning double platinum certification by the RIAA.

In an Instagram post Kendrick showed the fans his appreciation writing, “These murals forever belong to my fans,” he wrote. “You’ve always taken my words above and beyond. Around the world and back again. With trust. I am forever grateful. 2x.”

Having been released about 14-weeks ago, K. Dot continues to do damage on the Billboard 200, sitting strongly at no. 2 behind Jay-Z’s ‘4:44’ album. Last week it sold an additional 56,000 equivalent units, which propelled it to double platinum certification.

Dot has been collecting the plaques this year having already received platinum certification for “Alright” off ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ and gold certification for his freshman album ‘Section.80’ and “A.D.H.D.” off the album.

Kung-Fu Kenny will continue on the first leg of his “The DAMN. Tour” with Travis Scott and D.R.A.M. through August 9th in LA. Starting August 11th he’ll begin the second leg in Anaheim along with YG.

CONGRATS, DOT!

Lil Uzi Vert Feeds Fans With 5 New Tracks [LISTEN]

Screen Shot 2017-07-24 at 7.18.01 PM

Fans have been pushing Lil Uzi Vert to the edge with pressure over releasing ‘Luv Is Rage 2’.

Uzi has seemingly responded with five new tracks. DJ Drama and Don Cannon, who signed Uzi to their Generation Next label a few years ago, played the new singles on their Shade 45 Gangsta Grillz show on Friday.

The singles don’t have titles, but fans on the Internet have took it on themselves to name them. Unofficial titles for the songs are as follow, “Bag,” which features Young Thug, “Let You Know,” “Walking Around with a Bank,” “Loaded,” and “Pet.”

According to Uzi the singles are loosies and won’t appear on his upcoming ‘Luv Is Rage 2’ project writing in a Tweet, “Y’all thought them songs was on luv is rage…we coming way harder den dat.”

These five songs make it a total of eight songs Uzi has released this month, a nice amount for an EP. Earlier in the month he dropped “Alone Time,” “Curve,” and “Repercussions.”

Apparently Uzi is in no rush to drop ‘Luv Is Rage 2’ with both “XO Tour Lif3” and “Money Longer” going double platinum recently. The Philly rapper has been teasing new music on social media, but a release date for his upcoming project isn’t necessarily imminent.
