New Music: Tyga – “Move To L.A.” Feat. Ty Dolla $ign [LISTEN]

Screen Shot 2017-06-26 at 8.48.44 PM

This month Tyga will be releasing the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Bitch I’m the Shit’. It will be tough to match the success of the original, but Tyga’s new Ma$e-inspired single “Move to L.A.” definitely gives it a solid chance.

On the single T-Raww damn near matches Ma$e’s lyrics from his ‘Harlem World’ single “What You Want.” The production also samples the single and Ty Dolla $ign kills the hook with his trademark vocals.

“Raww be the man wanna see you doing good / I don’t wanna get rich, leave you in the ‘hood / Girl, in my eyes, you the baddest / The reason why I love you, you don’t like me, ’cause my status,” raps Tyga.

Tyler, The Creator Announces New Album ‘Scum Fuck Flower Boy’ [PEEP]

tyler

Staying true to his trend of dropping a new album every-other-year, Tyler, The Creator announces his next album ‘Scum Fuck Flower Boy’. Sharing two different covers on Instagram, Tyler made the announcement with the release date of July 21st and a track list.

Following the release of two new singles last week, the album announcement should come as no surprise. Both “Who Dat Boy” featuring A$AP Rocky and “911/Mr. Lonely” featuring Frank Ocean will appear on the album.

With fear of public perception the album which Tyler lists as ‘Scum Fuck Flower Boy’, will probably end up being called ‘Flower Boy’. It’s unclear which the official cover art is, but Tyler said he did one of them and LA artist Eric White did the other.

‘Scum Fuck Flower Boy’ follows 2015’s ‘Cherry Bomb’, which included features from Kanye West and Pharrell.

Check out both of Tyler’s new singles below, if you haven’t already.

Nas Pays Respect To Prodigy With Tribute & Covers “Shook Ones, Pt. II” [WATCH]

Screen Shot 2017-07-06 at 11.37.32 AM

Nas was the first one to report Prodigy’s death last month. Esco paid tribute to his fellow QueensBridge rapper at the Woo Hah! Festival in the Netherlands, by doing a rendition of Mobb Deep’s infamous “Shook Ones, Pt. II.”

While performing the tribute song, Nas asked the audience to wave their hands for P and chant “R.I.P. Prodigy!” To wrap up the performance Nas showed P love by yelling, “We love you, Prodigy.”

Throughout their careers Nas and Prodigy had some highs and lows. The two once feuded on wax and eventually talked it over and reconciled. Both Esco and P collaborated on a medley of tracks like “It’s Mine,” “Self Conscience,” “Eye for a Eye (Your Beef Is Mines),” “Queens Day,” and others.

Prodigy lost a long battle to sickle cell anemia on June 20th, 2017 in Las Vegas. He has been fighting the disease for about 20-years. Many rappers paid their respects to P at his funeral in New York last month. R.I.P. P.

Chance The Rapper Performs On NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concert” [WATCH]

chance-the-rapper-npr

From scoring his first No. 1 single on the Billboard 200 to being named the youngest-ever “Humanitarian of the Year” at the BET Awards, Chance The Rapper has been having a good year. Maintaining his hot streak, Chano took his talent to NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concert” to perform a medley of songs.

Chano began his performance in front of a small, intimate crowd by showing his appreciation and saying he’s a fan of the NPR series. From there the Chicago rapper performed a solo version of his ‘Coloring Book’ single, “Juke Jam,” which features Justin Bieber and Towkio.

Aside from performing a medley of his songs, Chano covered Stevie Wonder’s classic “They Won’t Go When I Go” and presented the audience with his new poem called “The Other Side.”

“I still have all the keys that are of no use to me, They used to, though. On the other side was a mansion on a hill, complete with L.A. pools and fireplaces and a rim made specifically for people that lie about being six feet to dunk on,” he said in the poem.
