Young Thug – ‘No, My Name Is Jeffery’ [STREAM]

young-thug-jeffery-cover

Young Thug wants fans to call him by his government name with ‘No, My Name Is Jeffery.’ Young Thug born Jeffery Lamar Williams, gets personal on his new album which was pushed back from its original drop date of August 16th, the rapper’s birthday.

Thugger has always caught heat from people and other rappers saying he dresses like a woman and his album cover doesn’t help the cause. The coverart shows him draped in a baby blue ruffled dress and an umbrella hat. I guess you do what you want when you’re poppin’.

On the album he pays tribute to musicians and athletes that have inspired him through his career with songs named after them. The songs are Wyclef Jean, Floyd Mayweather, Future Swag (after Future, who he’s beefed with in the past), RiRi, Guwop, Harambe (the gorilla) and Webbie.

Aside from making a song in Wyclef Jean’s honor, Thug also has a song with the number 1 Haitian. Other features include Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Quavo, Offset, Young Scooter, Gunna and Duke.

Thug talked about not having a street mentality and more of a Michael Jackson mentality on Travis Scott’s .wav radio.

“I always had a Michael Jackson mentality…The message is to go back to who I really am. I really am Jeffery. That’s really my swag.”

Good to see Thugger getting back to his roots.

The L.A. Leakers Indie Spotlight Interview Series With Rocky Banks [AUDIO]

RockyBanksInterview

The homie Rocky Banks came to L.A. for the first time, so I had to get him in the studio to talk about his forthcoming project, the Houston rap scene, his upcoming appearance at the AC3 Music Festival in Atlanta and more. You know I had to stay true to the Leaker way too and get the homie to spit a hot ass freestyle.
