New Music: N*E*R*D – “Rollinem 7’s” Feat. Andre 3000 [LISTEN]

Screen Shot 2017-11-10 at 3.06.30 PM

Fans that caught N*E*R*D’s performance-turned-listening party at ComplexCon last weekend already heard this, but if you weren’t there, N*E*R*D has a track on their upcoming album with Andre 3000 called “Rollinem 7’s.”

Laced with a hypnotic bounce, the single includes similar production to the Rihanna-assisted “Lemon.” On this one Pharrell calls for the people to “come together,” while celebrating his luck and hot hand. Andre 3000 comes through on the tracks final verse with smart, introspective raps.

Along with Andre 3000 and Rihanna, N*E*R*D’s ‘No_One Ever Really Dies’ album will also include features from Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Future, Wale, M.I.A, and others. It was expected to be released following ComplexCon, but to date has no official release date.

Capital Cities ft. André 3000 – Farrah Fawcett Hair (Audio)

“Eating ceviche in Peru.” It’s good shit.

I always feel like I have to point out any reference to Peru because, just because. So Capital Cities decided to get NPR’s Frank Tavares to talk and André 3000 to sing on a track titled “Farrah Fawcett Hair.” As confusing as the features may sound, the song is sort of jumbled but sonically appealing. Pretty sure you’ll be singing the hook by the end of it, “Like Michael Jackson Thriller, like Farrah Fawcett hair….”

Capital Cities’ In a Tidal Wave of Mystery is out June 4th.

Beyoncé & André 3000 – Back To Black (Audio)

Back To Black

Mark Ronson, who co-wrote the original Amy Winehouse version, premiered the full version Beyoncé and André 3000’s rendition of “Back To Black” on East Village Radio earlier this weekend. Radio rip for now. “Back To Black” will be on the The Great Gatsby deluxe edition soundtrack, which is out May 7.

Beyonce & Andre 3000 – Back To Black (Audio Snippet)

Beyonce

After the sampler to The Great Gatsby soundtrack was released, we realized two tracks were missing: Beyonce & Andre 3000 and Jay-Z. Well, here’s the Beyonce & Andre 3000 missing snippet. Backed by with an dark slow instrumental, the preview of the Amy Winehouse remake shares one verse from Andre and cuts off Bey by a bit. Still enough to hear the track.

According to The Boombox, Amy’s dad is not f*cking with it aka not f*cking with King Bey’s verse. “I don’t think she brings anything to it,’ he told the Daily Mail.

Listen below and judge for yourself.

‘The Great Gatsby’ Trailer w/ new music by André 3000, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey & Florence + The Machine (Video)

Andre 3000 & Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey and Florence + The Machine build up the atmosphere in the latest The Great Gatsby trailer which premiered at 6am PT this morning. After news broke that Beyonce and André 3000 were covering Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black,” the single is now available to be heard in the first third of the 2:44-minute trailer. Following the Winehouse cover “Back To Black” is a new Lana Del Rey song titled “Young and Beautiful” (my personal favorite in the trailer and coming out as a single on April 23). Florence + The Machine with “Over The Love” closes out the movie trailer.

Notice the grand ol’ music lineup listed at the end of the trailer?

Big Boi To Reunite With Andre 3000 On New Version Of Frank Ocean’s “Pink Matter” (News)

Image taken from Instagram

Earlier this summer, Big Boi tweeted why he wasn’t featured on Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange along his Outkast other-half, Andre 3000. “Dre didn’t want an Outkast Record Coming out on anybody else.” Hmmm, it took only 6 months to flip that.

This past weekend, the ATL-ien instagram’d a piece of paper (posted above) with writing titled “Pink Matter.” Could it be a new updated verse? Well, the IG caption “Dropping a verse on this Frank Ocean ‘Pink Matter'” pretty much confirms it.

According to HipHopDX, the new version of “Pink Matter” featuring Outkast is set to be released next week. I think we all have high expectations for this one.

UPDATE: T.I.’s “Sorry” is next on the Outkast reunion list.

Andrè 3000 Calls Frank Ocean An Icon (Video)

In a recent interview with FUSE  Andre 3000 called Frank Ocean an Icon.

“When I got the track [‘Pink Matter’], I just started writing to it. I’m just happy to be a part of that whole movement and his whole movement because he has become a whole ‘nother kind of icon in today’s age. I was just happy to be a part of that album.”
