Mateo blew me away with his cover of Eminem’s “Forever” off of the Underneath The Sky Ch. 3 mixtape and his newest song and video doesn’t fall short of the high standards I’ve set for him. “Don’t Shoot Me Down,” which features Goapele and Re-Up Gang’s Ab Liva, is the latest offering off of the singer’s upcoming mixtape, Love & Stadiums, available March 30th.

Oh my, I do love this song. I first heard it on Ashley Outrageous’ The Playlist Vol. 2 and it was definitely my favorite off the project. Like a scene out of Brown Sugar, there’s a couple listening to music on a park bench and Laws raps along side his female engineer. “Lady Hip Hop” is an ode to all the female hip hop lovers. Watch.
