Capital Cities ft. André 3000 – Farrah Fawcett Hair (Audio)

“Eating ceviche in Peru.” It’s good shit.

I always feel like I have to point out any reference to Peru because, just because. So Capital Cities decided to get NPR’s Frank Tavares to talk and André 3000 to sing on a track titled “Farrah Fawcett Hair.” As confusing as the features may sound, the song is sort of jumbled but sonically appealing. Pretty sure you’ll be singing the hook by the end of it, “Like Michael Jackson Thriller, like Farrah Fawcett hair….”

Capital Cities’ In a Tidal Wave of Mystery is out June 4th.

Wale ft. Rihanna – Bad (Remix) (Snippet)

SWAY_WALE

While on a current promo run for his June 25th release, Wale stopped by Sway In The Morning on Shade 45 to talk about his album and share a little exclusive. Since his current single, “Bad” featuring Tiara Thomas, has gone gold, it’s only right for Wale to bring on the “Bad”dest girl in the game, Rihanna, for the remix.

Listen to the snippet of the remix, straight from Wale’s smart phone.

#OKNotToBeOK: J. Cole – Born Sinner: From Depression To Happiness (Video)

“When you listen to the [Born Sinner] album you’ll notice how it flows from darkness to light, from hell to heaven, depression to happiness,” Cole says of the upcoming LP’s emotive theme. “It literally was a way out… I’m writing my way out of a negative place, a darker place.”

In the latest segment for #OKNotToBeOK, J. Cole recalls his more somber moments while battling depression as he worked on his sophomore album, Born Sinner. To find out more about SoulCulture’s mental health campaign, #OKNotToBeOK, click here to be directed to the official site.

The Neighbourhood – West Coast (Audio)

West Coast

The Neighbourhood is an alternative band from California, which I stumbled upon while scrolling through SoundCloud (great site – go get an account!). I wasn’t sure what I was listening to when I heard the laid back sound with Cali-influenced drums but “West Coast” is more of a hip-hop single than alternative which drew me in. They have another track titled “Sweater Weather” which I really enjoyed too!
