Triggas’ voice provides power as the piano strikes keys that speak directly to the heart, singing, “All these beautiful, precious black lives / Lost in the name of senseless white pride.”

It is apparent that at this point in time that we are all tired, and want real changes to happen. As Trey states, “How many brothas gotta die? How many more lives?”

New Music: Jim Jones – “The People” [LISTEN]

Jim Jones just delivered a introspective track called “The People” that strikingly conveys people’s emotions regarding our nation’s current problems and issues.

Even though it is only a 2-minute song, the New York rapper had a lot to say about police brutality and George Floyd’s death. Moreover, the outro of the song shows the rapper saying, “I can’t breathe” and “momma,” which are some of George Floyd’s last words uttered.

New Music: Machine Gun Kelly – “Killing In The Name (Rage Against The Machine Cover)” [LISTEN]

Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker released a track cover of Rage Against Machine’s “Killing in the Name” that shows support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

The original track was released in 1992 and talked about the police brutality and racism that was happening in L.A. and several parts of the United States at that period.

The original meaning of the song’s message is still sadly held true even to this day. MGK and Barker have collaborated in the past, but this time they both aim to bring upon change in the fight against oppression and police brutality.

New Music: YG – “FTP” [LISTEN]

YG released a new song called “FTP” in the wake of a nationwide protest aginst police injustice that is currently going on over the death of George Floyd.

The Bompton rapper dropped the song on YouTube without the help of his record label, because he didn’t wanna wait.

On the new track, YG talks about different issues that occur in the black community, which he has suffered and experienced over the years. He also implied that some of the police are similar to Ku Klux Klan by calling them out as Ku Klux cops.

Ultimately, the main message that he was trying to convey on the song was that the black community has had enough and that it’s time to take a serious action.

Run The Jewels Release New Album ‘RTJ4’ Which They Say Aligns With The Times [STREAM]

Run The Jewels have released their long-awaited new album ‘RTJ4’ ahead of its scheduled release date because, “Fuck it, why wait. The world is infested with bullshit so here’s something raw to listen to while you deal with it all.”

The newly released album features contributions from 2Chainz, Pharrell, Zach De La Rocha, and more. Jamie and Mike did not shy away from the topics and issues that are currently going on in our country.

More specifically, they touch on the issues of police brutality and racial and
economic injustice. Overall, Run the Jewels showed their great chemistry on this new project and their striking diversity of perspectives on a number of issues as one of hip-hop’s distinguished multiracial duo.

For too long in America there have been injustices and senseless killings of our black brothers and sisters like George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Christian Cooper, Oscar Grant, and many others that have caused an uprising throughout the country.

IT’S TIME FOR CHANGE and this is a call to action for each and every one of us to do better, to speak up, and to be part of the solution. We can make a difference with our voices, votes, and who we decide to contribute to financially.

The beginning of the video begins with the words “The video and song is happening right outside your window” as the visuals for the project features b-roll footage of the civil unrest spanning across the country right now. 

The song was delivered to us on the eve of Blackout Tuesday (June 2), as the music industry will basically cease daily operations in a show of solidarity with the black community.
