New Music: HoodyBaby – “Flexing” Feat. Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Quavo & Gudda Gudda [LISTEN]

On the first episode of Young Money Radio on Dash Radio, Lil Wayne gave listeners an “exklusive premiere” of Young Money signee, HoodyBaby’s debut mixtape, ‘Kitchen 24 (Slangin’ Off Key)’. The standout single off the debut mixtape, “Flexin” features Chris Brown, Quavo, and Weezy.

Weezy leads things off with raps aimed at ratchets and a potential sex tape leaker. Breezy handles the hook, where he asks a female, “Tell me why would I sit up waiting on you?”.  Quavo rhymes about the women he’s had and Hoody closes it out with Wu-Tang Clan references.

‘Kitchen 24 (Slangin’ Off Key)’ is hosted by DJ Drama and includes other features from Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, and Kevin Gates. Listen to “Flexin” below via SoundCloud.

NEW Drake – “HYPE” Remix Feat. Lil Wayne

If you thought Drake was gonna take a break from making music after releasing an album, guess again. The 6 God was featured on YG’s “Why You Always Hatin?” which premiered on OVO Sound Radio today. Oliver who was hosting the show, followed that premiere up with another one — a remix to Drake’s “Hype” featuring none other than Lil Tunechi. Good to see these two making music together again, even if they might’ve not been in the studio together when this one was recorded.

Tyga Covers Vibe Magazine & Talks Drake (News)

tyga-vibe

Tyga graced the cover of VIBE magazine’s digital cover, inside the mag he talks about his new album, breaking out on his own, and his indifference between himself, Drake, and Nicki Minaj.

Is Young Money a part of the creative process on this album?
Nah. I tend to distance myself from them.

Are you trying to break out on your own?
Yeah, I’m tryna’ go independent. I don’t really get along with Drake. I don’t really get along with Nicki.

Why?

I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda’ like we were forcing relationships together. It is what it is. But I been friends with Chris [Brown] for like six years. That’s my real genuine friend. We hang out all the time. He lives up the street from me, so we don’t just do music we hang. I think being signed to Young Money, everybody felt like they had to force a relationship ‘cause Wayne put us together. At the end of the day the reason why I signed to Young Money is because of Wayne. Not because of Drake, not because of Nicki. It was because of Wayne and my relationship with him. I try to be cool with everybody, but sometimes, everybody just has different personalities, motives, and different characters. When you realize that, you realize that’s not a place where you want to continue to grow.

The Young Money team Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and the rest of Young Money will be coming together for a new their new compilation Rise Of An Empire, which is will drop on March 11th. This will be the follow up to their last compilation album We Are Young Money which dropped in 2009.

Rise of an Empire will also include Drake’s victorious anthem “Trophies,” which he performed live on “Saturday Night Live.”

“This compilation is a very special release for the label,” said Young Money COO Cortez Bryant. “We Are Young Money helped launch the careers of our first generation of acts with Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. Even though we’ve been honored with accolades as a company, our hunger hasn’t diminished or dwindled. We’re hungrier than ever, and we’re still building. That goes hand-in-hand with the title Young Money: Rise of an Empire. We’re not going anywhere. We don’t plan on stopping—ever. Our goal is the expansion of this Empire with the next generation of kings and queens ruling.”
