One of the most talked about songs off Nicki Minaj’s ‘Queen’ album is “Barbie Dreams,” where she flips The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Just Playing (Dreams)” and takes the 50 Cent “How To Rob” approach by name-dropping rappers and spitting sexually-charged bars about them.
During her stop on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Nicki talked to the host about the album and when asked about the single Nick confessed that she is “obsessed” with Colbert and tweaked a verse dedicating bars to him.
“I might f**k Stephen after the show / He gon’ come back to work with a magical glow / But when you see us please, f**king don’t stare / Just address me as Queen Nicki Colbert,” she freestyled, while Colbert blushed and covered his face and asked, “Are we still broadcasting?”
Days after delivering her highly-anticipated ‘Queen’ album, Nicki Minaj comes through with the Mert and Marcus-directed visuals for “Ganja Burn.” The Egyptian-themed, six-minute video gives the backstory into the Queen’s kingdom that is destroyed by enemies.
Nicki Minaj looks to come for the crown with the release of her long-awaited, highly-anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Queen’. Nick’s last album ‘The Pinkprint’ was released back in 2014 and spawned hits like “Anaconda,” “Truffle Butter” featuring Drake and Lil Wayne, “Pill n Potions,” and “Only” featuring Drake, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown.
Fully loaded with 19 tracks, the album includes a range of contributions from Eminem, The Weeknd, Lil Wayne, Future, Swae Lee, Ariana Grande, Labyrinth, and Foxy Brown.
The early standout single is the third track, “Barbie Dreams,” where she samples The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Just Playing (Dreams)” and draws inspiration from 50 Cent’s classic “How to Rob,” as she name drops and jokingly exposes a long list of rappers and athletes that includes: Drake, Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, YG, 6ix9ine, and others.
“Drake worth a hundred milli, always buyin’ me shit / But I don’t know if the pussy wet or if he cryin’ and shit / Meek still be in my DMs, I be havin’ to duck him,” she raps on “Barbie Dreams.”

For the second time, Nicki Minaj is pushing back the release date for her highly-anticipated ‘Queen’ album.
The album was originally supposed to be released June 15th with Nicki announcing that date on the Met Gala red carpet. It was later pushed to August 10th for undisclosed reasons and now it is getting delayed an extra week to August 17th, due to a sample clearance issue.
According to Nicki a song on her album that features “1 of the greatest rappers of all time” contains a Tracy Chapman sample she had “no clue” about. Chapman hasn’t cleared the sample, resulting in the one-week delay.
“So there’s a record on #Queen that features 1of the greatest rappers of all time,” she wrote in a deleted tweet. “Had no clue it sampled the legend #TracyChapman – do I keep my date & lose the record? Or do I lose the record & keep my date? do we push #Queen back 1week? Ugh! I’m torn, y’all help.”
Onika publicly reached out to Chapman in a tweet asking the legend to hit her up. Tracy Chapman, can you please hit me. omg for the love of #Queen,” she pleaded.
In another deleted tweet Nick shared details about the song saying, “Y’all gon get mad tea on that song too,” she added. “I’m high key lookin out for y’all chile. It’s sum GOODT TEA TOO. I’d be willing to sacrifice one more week for this tea! But I haven’t decided. Ugh. Love you.”
Nicki has since conducted a poll asking fans for advice whether she should “Keep date/lose record” or “Keep record/push date1 wk.”
‘Queen’ is now set to be released August 17th. She confirmed the new date on her Apple Music Essentials playlist writing, “Can’t wait for you guys to hear my 4th album QUEEN ON AUGUST 17!!!!!!!” she wrote, while also hinting at a surprise. “My darlings!!! I have a huge surprise that I can’t share until the day before #Queen drops.”
Hours after reports surfaced of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s brutal attack that occurred this morning in Brooklyn, the self-proclaimed “King of New York” released his highly-anticipated single, “FEFE,” that features Nicki Minaj.
Over the Murda Beatz-production, 6ix9ine raps, “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, I catch a ho right by her toe / N****s say they killin’ people, but I really fuckin’ do it.” Nicki follows up with her verse rapping, “Colorful hair, don’t care / I don’t really want no friends, no.”
The single was accompanied with a colorful video which you can watch below.
Let us know in the comments below what you think of the single.

It’s not quite summer yet but things are already beginning to heat up with YG releasing the second single off his forthcoming ‘Stay Dangerous’ album. With Mustard handling the production, YG assembles his hip-hop dream team of 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and Nicki Minaj for “Big Bank.”
“Big Bank” follows “Suu Whoop” off the rapper’s ‘Stay Dangerous’ that is expected to be released sometime this summer. Stay tuned for more updates. In the meantime blast this in your car, party, everywhere.
Nicki Minaj cancelled her appearance on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” yesterday, where she planned to make a “major” announcement. To make up for it, Barbz had an Instagram live session that updated her fans with some important news.
I couldn’t fly out to shoot Ellen. [Doctor’s Orders]. I’m sad about that. There’s an announcement I was going to make on Ellen. I’ll make it tomorrow via social media instead. Love you. 🦄 pic.twitter.com/gR2060mCsS
During the session Nicki told her fans she was pushing the release date for her forthcoming ‘Queen’ album back to August 10th. The original album date of June 15th was made on the red carpet of the MET Gala earlier this month.
Looking to make it up to her fans, Nicki guaranteed her fans happiness on June 15th saying she had “three surprises” on the 15th that will give them their “whole complete life.” One of the surprises is a new single, while the other two are the album artwork and an intimate listening party, where fans get to hear the album with Nicki.
They called on the queen and she came through with the heat.
Nicki Minaj made her return to “Saturday Night Live,” this time to close out the 43rd season of the series with two EPIC performances. With Tina Fey on hand to introduce Barbz, the self-proclaimed rap queen came out firing with a performance of her charting “Chun-Li” single for the first time on television.
With chopsticks in her hair and a black robe the Harajuku queen came from under a Chinese arch with ninja dancers by her side and ran through the “Street Fighter” inspired single as one of the characters.

Following the performance of “Chun-Li,” Nick came back for another first-time television performance, this time it was with Playboi Carti for his new ‘Die Lit’ single “Poke It Out.” Flaunting her body with dancers, she delivered her crazy verse and “the best feature out the Big APPLE since FACETIME.”
