Vibe to the title track of Murs & Fashawn‘s upcoming album This Generation, entirely produced by Beatnick & K-Salaam. Like a title track should, “This Generation” envelopes the theme behind the upcoming album which drops September 29th. Pre-order it on iTunes today.
Murs and Fashawn hung out on #SwayInTheMorning recently and spoke on their early beef, and how they went from close-fist-fight-encounters, to creating a joint album. They elaborate on creatively coming up with the title, plus explain their writing process. Murs then opened up about why he decided to kiss a man in his “Animal Style” video, after the jump.

Cali emcee Murs presents the HOBOSTEWD-directed music video for “Animal Style”, the Embassy-produced track from his recent BluRoc release Love & Rockets Volume 1: The Transformation (avail on iTunes). Talk about a story with an unexpected ending. Left me with my eyes wide and with my left hand over my mouth.
Murs surprised me with this one. It was the good kind of surprise, though! He teamed up with Ski Beatz and spit over a rock type track titled “Let’s Go!,” which can be found on the official A3C Vol. 1. If you aren’t familiar with the A3C Hip Hop Festival, it’s a music festival in Georgia and features acts from independent artists, as well as signed ones. Kind of like a SXSW. Anywho, “Let’s Go!” fits the spirit of the festival, perfectly. A3C Vol. 1 will feature songs from Chase N. Cashe, Smoke DZA, XV and more and will be available on October 4th.
This past Friday I was blessed to DJ at the Murs & 9th Wonder listening party over at AND STILL on La Brea in LA. I did my whole set on the Numark Itch. First time ever using it and I have to say it’s pretty nice! Check out the pics.
