My guy Nipsey Hussle continues to feed the streets with his new project titled Mailbox Money. Coming off the success with “Crenshaw” he brings his bars and the West coast vibe to the next level with this new project. I feel like Mailbox Money is the type of album that provides lyrical tricks with ease. Nip explains the often hard times of finding the balance between pleasing his day-one fans while at the same time extending a warm welcome to potential new listeners.
Ok, let’s get into some songs I’m feeling off the new album.
A couple songs that I’m feeling are “Overtime”, and “Real Moves”. In Overtime Nip raps “they say it’s 6 degrees in life, opportunity, preparation, they meet is nice”. I can feel that because I think once you get that opportunity you should be prepared for it. When you’re prepared, you get a great outcome. “Real Moves” is just a great song all around. It features Leimert Park’s own Dom Kennedy and they both bring solid bars. Nip slid in a quick gem on this song that goes “I sleep light but I dream big, I tend to talk less because I see things.” That’s a bar there.
My dude Nip has always been a businessman when it comes to releasing his music. This project is no exception. Hussle is selling the album 3 different ways. You can buy one of the super limited physical copies through his Proud 2 Pay campaign for a rack ($1,000), you can go on ITunes and grab it for only $10, or go on DatPiff and get it for FREE.
Keeping it all the way real, if I had a rack laying around in my shoe box I would have definitely paid for it. For now I had to stick with iTunes for mine. However you get it, go support the homie Nipsey!
