So if you haven’t heard, the bossman Weezy pulled the plug on Nicki’s Summer Jam performance in NY earlier today. Here’s the comments that pissed the YMCMB team off.
“I see the real Hip-Hop heads sprinkled in here. I see them. I know there are some chicks here waiting to sing ‘Starships’ later, I’m not talking to y’all right now. Fuck that bullshit. I’m here to talk about real hip-hop shit. People here to see A$AP Rocky today. People here to see ScHoolboy Q on this stage. That’s the shit I represent.”
How do ya’ll feel about this? Was Peter Rosenberg out of line? Or Was Nicki being sensitive?
JANICE UPDATE: So apparently Funk Flex wasn’t happy about Ms. Nicki backing out. He clearly stated the following on-air — “We ain’t fuckin with commercial rappers no more, if you lost the fuckin streets, its your fault! If you don’t go gold, it’s your fault! I’m dedicated to tearing you down! Fuck with me! We gon show you mama, you think you didn’t sell any records this time?” (via DDot)
Oh? Someone’s not happy. In my opinion, the YMCMB team could have handled the situation a little more professional rather than having the headliner back out but I guess they wanted to “make a statement.” Barbz fans were disappointed but on the upside, music fans we’re not. Nas and Lauryn Hill were a pretty nice replacement.
Chris Brown released three new songs today! I’m digging this one with Wayne, more after the jump.

Lil Wayne fires back at Pusha T after he dissed Drake and YMCMB on “Exodus 23:1.”
“F*#k Pusha T and anybody that love ‘em/ His head up his ass, I’ma have to head butt him, gut him,” raps Weezy on the venomous track, produced by Swizz Beatz.
He continues, “You f*ckin’ with some ni**as that will murk ya’ll/ Ni**a you softer than a motherf*ckin’ nerf ball, bird call / Prrr, what happened to that body?/ He was talkin’ shit, we put a clap into that boy.”

Of course Drake brought out everyone in his set. Even Lil Wayne and The Weeknd, who are not on tour, joined him on stage. Last night, Drizzy and friends kicked off the opening night for the Club Paradise Tour in Concord, CA. Looked like a fun night and the person taking the footage sure had great seats! Watch Aubrey and 2 Chainz perform “No Lie” live for the first time and catch the other cameos after the jump.

The video for “Faded” debuted earlier today on MTV Jams with Tyga and Lil’ Wayne starring as bobble heads (in parts of the video anyways).

Lil Wayne and Mountain Dew brought DEWeezy to SXSW this year and man, did it look live. Mikey Fresh caught some footage of entrance on stage, skateboard in hand, and I’m sure I’ll be adding more videos to this post when the sun rises. Lots of Rap bosses at SXSW this year and there are more to come.
Stay tuned for more coverage…
Robin Thicke premieres his latest visual, inspired by classic films such as Rebel Without a Cause and A Streetcar Named Desire, featuring Young Money commander Lil Wayne. Happy watching.
Directed by Marc Klasfeld.
You thought she went commercial but she just shot a commercial but she flew to the set, she didn’t fly commercial. As much as I like Nicki’s singing (yeah, I reeally like the song “Turn Me On”), I knew street Nicki was in there somewhere. Nice to hear you again, Nicki Minaj. Check out the title track, featuring Lil Wayne, from her upcoming sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, out in stores April 3rd.
Produced by Rico Beats.
