Childish Gambino teams up with TDE’s Jay Rock for “Sour Face” found on DJ Sosupersam’s mixtape Trigger Happy. We’re just missing that Childish Gambino and Kendrick Lamar collaboration and the Black Hippy and Gambino connection will be more than official.
While on the East, Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul (ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock call in) stopped by Invasion Radio to discuss comparisons, developing their delivery, the meaning of Black Hippy and more.

Oh man. Ab-Soul is rounding up the troops (Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q) for the Black Hippy remix to “Black Lip Bastard.” The video looks like it’s going to be a problem. Don’t forget, Soulo’s Control System drops next week, May 11th.

Black Hippy, consisting of Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul, has found a home in the major label world. According to FADER, “Top Dawg Entertainment’s founder and namesake, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith says that TDE has “just closed” a joint venture deal with Interscope Records and Aftermath Entertainment, the Interscope imprint founded by Dr. Dre.” TDE x Aftermath x Interscope is about to be a problem. Future releases from each of the members, including Kendrick’s untitled debut album, will be released under the joint venture. Congrats TDE!

The two California emcees enjoyed pretty successful years from the stage to the studio to the music you heard on Follow Me Home and Section.80.
