Eminem graced the cover of Complex magazine’s December/January issue.

What themes are you revisiting in particular [on MMLP2]?
Um… [long pause] certain things, man. I’m trying to think if I can answer this. And I’m retarded, so…. On the first Marshall Mathers LP there were some personal things that I addressed and on this record there are some chapters that I wanted to close. This isn’t Recovery, where I was coming off some personal tragedies. I’m not coming off of a drug overdose. It’s more about going back to the basics of hip-hop and some fundamentals in that sense

Eminem sat down with Rolling Stone Magazine and talked about his new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, and working with Rick Rubin.

Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations. I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs – and just when you think you got it, you listen and you’re like, ‘Fuck, man! I feel like it needs this or that,’ to paint the whole picture.

It’s not necessarily a sequel, as much as it is a revisitation. So there’s not gonna be, like, continuations of every old song on there or anything like that. To me, it’s more about the vibe, and it’s more about the nostalgia.

 

 

Eminem To Perform On ‘SNL’ In November (News)

Eminem will be taking the stage on Saturday Night Live in November.

The “Rap God” will return as the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” next month.
He will perform on the Nov. 2 episode with host Kerry Washington, NBC announced on Wednesday. The appearance marks the Detroit rapper’s sixth time on the late-night show and first since his 2010 performance with Lil Wayne.

Three days later, he will release his eighth album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 featuring the singles “Berzerk” and “Rap God,” plus collaborations with Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Skylar Grey, and fun.’s Nate Ruess.
