MTV caught up with Drake after his OVO Fest and talked his new single “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”
It’s not a rap record. It’s not ‘Versace,’ it’s not ‘Started From the Bottom‘. In approaching this album I was like man, it would be great if we had a record that was played at weddings in 10 years or that people that are away from their families in the army could listen to. Something that just [has] timeless writing, timeless melody. So I did it with the group that we signed to OVO called Majid Jordan.
Majid is singing on the record with me and Jordan is his production partner. It’s a great record. I’m nervous and excited and all these things about it. I’ve never really put out a record like this before, so we’ll see how it goes.
Revolt TV caught up with Drake backstage at his OVO Fest and he spoke on what this experience meant to him.
Drake also mentioned that Kanye inspired him to rap. In return, Ye said Drake is what motivated him and Jay to record Watch The Throne.
“In rap sometimes we don’t communicate enough it’s extremely competitive. So me and Kanye we hadn’t even talked before we got on stage together we didn’t rehearse that was my first time seeing him when we got on stage. His words that was a moment when I clicked out and I was like I don’t know if this is real or not.”
Drake – Hold On We’re Going Home
First official song off Drake’s new album Nothing Was The Same, I call this guy Mr. Swish cause he doesn’t miss! The beginning of the summer belonged to Jay Z and J.Cole, and the rest of the summer belongs to Drake.
Drake ft. 2 Chainz & Big Sean – All Me
My second pick goes to another Drake song that he put out on his website last week, a collaboration with 2 Chainz and Big Sean. This was already one of the most asked for songs in all my club sets this weekend. I’m hearing it was originally for Big Sean’s Hall Of Fame CD. Not sure if it will end up on Nothing Was The Same but either way I’m lovin the vibe.
Comment below and let me know who you think has the hottest verse!
ScHoolboy Q ft. Kendrick Lamar – Collard Greens
Had to show some love to my west coast homies ScHoolboy Q and Kendrick Lamar. Love ridin around L.A. listening to this one. Kendrick’s verse proves why he’s top 2 rappers in the game right now.
I picked up these hot new Nike Free Flyknit’s over the weekend, so many hot color ways in this shoe but I wanted to pick out the ones that stood out the most. You can buy a pair of your own here.
Also before I get out of here I had the chance to DJ for Kevin Durant and James Harden at Toxic inside Lure nightclub in Hollywood. Just thought I’d share this picture not a bad weekend (HAHAHA)

MTV caught up with Big Sean and talked his feature on Drake’s new single “All Me.”
“Key Wane had that beat and it was funny cause I wanted to use for Hall Of Fame, and Drake wanted to use the beat too, so I did a verse to it and I didn’t know he did a song to it that verse I just had randomly. so then I sent him the verse cause Key Wane was like man he wants to use it for his album.”
