J. Cole Covers Billboard & Talks Fame, Trump, Nas, Social Media & More [PEEP]

Front Cover Cole!

In the midst of touring the country on his “KOD TOUR,” J. Cole takes some time off for an interview and photoshoot for the Billboard magazine cover.

Coming off of his ‘KOD’ album Cole sat down with Billboard to discuss a wide range of topics in Pop Culture like Donald Trump Dump, social media and in hip-hop like upcoming projects, Nas, fame, XXXtentaction, and more.

“I swear to God, I be thinking about how to get un-famous but, I know it’s impossible” he says regarding fame. “Rarely do I feel the need to hop on Twitter or social media and chime in especially on
rapping music shit this shit is not real this shit is fucking fake this shit is high school this shit is
fucking celebrity worship”

He goes on to address the elephant in the room being Donald Trump Dump saying, “With Trump in office, I love that America gets to see the truth. If Hillary Clinton was in office, it would be the most fucking disingenuous shit because everybody would be thinking that everything’s cool because we got an incredibly qualified female president.”

Check out more topics in Q&A format below.

ON “1985” CRITICISM: “I don’t look at it as being harsh. I look at it as being a rap response record. It’s not even to someone [specific]; it’s a group of people who were on some ‘Fuck J. Cole’ shit, which, when I started peeking my head back into what was going on, was a shock. But even while I made the song, I was fucking with these kids. I was a fan. I was riding around playing Lil Pump just because I wanted to understand what it was, and the more I understood, it was like, ‘Damn.’ I was writing that song from a place of, like, smacking your little brother. I still love you, but I’ma smack you.”

ON XXXTENTACION: “I spoke to him on FaceTime one day in February for, like, three hours. His management reached out to [Cole’s manager Ibrahim Hamad] and asked if he could FaceTime me or call me. It was a super-intense conversation. He left a mark on me, just as a person.”

ON KELIS’ ABUSE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST NAS: “Yeah, that hurt. I ain’t going to lie. That hurts. It feels weird because I fuck with Nas, but I just have to be honest. I came up seeing too much fucked-up shit for that to be acceptable. I don’t care who it is. I don’t fuck with people abusing women, and I don’t fuck with people not taking care of their kids.”

Cole’s Billboard cover will hit shelves every where on September 29th.

Logic Delivers A Powerful Performance Of “One Day” At The MTV VMAs [WATCH]

Channeling his inner Eminem, Logic made a major entrance similar to Marshall Mathers’ at the 2000 MTV VMAs when he performed “The Real Slim Shady.” However, Bobby Tarantino’s was more powerful as he was joined by immigrant parents and children on his way to the stage.

Logic was also joined by Ryan Tedder as they performed the politically-charged “One Day” in front of a huge screen that read, “WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS.”

Salute to Logic for continually using his massive platform to address these major social issues and calling out Donald Trump Dump’s bullsh*t agenda and views.

Nipsey Hussle Performs “FDT” With Kanye West “MAGA” Photo In The Background [PEEP]

During a performance of his anti-Donald Trump single “FDT” over the weekend at the Broccoli City Fest in Washington D.C., Nipsey Hussle blew up a photo of Kanye West wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap and made it his background for the performance.

The moment was pretty epic as it was in the nation’s capital and only miles away from The White House. Since coming out in 2016 the politically-charged single has made a lot of noise and sitrred up controversy with scathing lyrics about President Donald Trump Dump.

After the performance Neighbahood Nip posted a photo of the stage during the performance and shared some context with a caption that read, “Performed #FDT in Washington D.C. Picture Speaking A Thousand Words.”

YG, who collaborated with Nip on “FDT” also sent a tweet out the same day where he showed love to Ye, but kept the same stance on Trump. “KANYE WE LOVE YOU. BUT FUCK TRUMP,” he wrote in the tweet.

New Music: Kanye West – “Ye Vs. The People” Feat. T.I. [LISTEN]

As mentioned on my last post Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk world premiered Kanye West’s new single “Ye vs. the People” featuring T.I. before he even released it. The official CDQ version has now surfaced on all platforms.

Following his major trolling of the Internet with the release of “Lift Yourself,” Mr. West comes through with a single about his recent support of President Donald Trump and joining the Make America Great Again movement.

Kanye and T.I. go back-and-forth on the song about Ye’s political views as TIP courts Yeezus about his recent political views and plays the role of “The People.” It’s a brilliant concept and reminiscent of Joyner Lucas’ “I’m Not Racist.”

“I know Obama was heaven-sent / But ever since Trump won, it proved that I could be president.” Kanye kicks in his first stanza before saying later that he is trying to unify the nation. “You just readin’ the headlines, you don’t see the fine print / You on some choosin’ sides shit, I’m on some unified shit.”

TIP then chimes as “The People” rapping, “It’s bigger than your selfish agenda / Fuck who you choose as your political party / You representin’ dudes that seem cruel and cold-hearted / With blatant disregard for the people who put you in position.”

At the end T.I. asks Yeezy to see things through a different lens. “You gotta see the vantage point of the people / What makes you feel equal makes them feel evil.”

Kanye West has already said on his Twitter account that his forthcoming 7-track album, which remains without a title will be released on Friday, June 1st. Stay tuned for more updates as they unfold.

We WORLD PREMIERED Kanye West’s “Ye Vs. The People” Feat. T.I. On Power 106 & Played It For Three Hours Straight [PEEP]

Friday night was special on the Power 106 #LIFTOFF show as Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk premiered a brand new Kanye West record that Yeezus hadn’t even released yet! The unreleased “Ye vs. the People” featuring T.I. was world premiered in a BIG way on the #LIFTOFF with Jus and Milk playing it for 3-hours straight.

Creddy and Milk were the first ones on any radio station in the entire world with the single and did it right by making a movie with it on-air. The L.A. airwaves were on fire with listeners calling in and blowing up our social accounts.

Listeners were in a frenzy on social media and some showed their excitement with tweets and videos on IG, while others were angry Justin and Sourmilk continuously talked over the record, not allowing them to listen or try to rip it for themselves. The majority was upset they they couldn’t get the new Ye without that L.A. Leakers stamp on the audio. (LOL)

I had to make a graphic of some of the hilarious tweets we got from pissed off listeners on Twitter sounding off about the movie that was being made on Power 106.

Shoutout to everyone for tuning in and everyone that understood how major that moment was, as moments like those rarely happen on radio these days. Kanye’s “Ye vs. the People” featuring T.I. is available on all platforms now! Go listen to it without any disruption on the track. [LMAO]

New Music: Chris Brown – “State Of The Union” [LISTEN]

On the heels of [FAULTY] President Donald Trump giving his first official State of the Union speech last night, Chris Brown capitalizes on it by releasing his new single, “State of the Union.”

Although it seems like Breezy would be coming at Trump on the track, he actually takes a more chill approach, as he flips Goapele’s “Closer” instrumental and harmonizes over it. The song is about a love interest rather than any politics.

Joyner Lucas Tackles Racial Relations, Tension & More In “I’m Not Racist” [WATCH]

Racial tension has been increasing in America since Donald Trump took the reign as President of the United States. Race-related conversations can be very uncomfortable, but Massachusetts rapper, Joyner Lucas tackles the topic on his new song “I’m Not Racist,” which he coupled with a powerful video.

The video shows a white man and black man having a conversation at a table that gets heated. The white man wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap begins the conversation in Joyner’s voice. With the camera affixed on his face the “MAGA” supporter touches on slavery, the black community using the n-word, Eminem, white privilege, and more.

“I’m not racist, I’m just prepared for this type of war,” the White man aggressively rhymes. “I heard Eminem’s rap at the awards, who’s he fightin’ for?/Y’all can take that motherfucker too, he ain’t white no more/It’s like you wanna be so famous, you’ll do anything for attention and a little payment/I can’t take you nowhere without people pointin’ fingers/Pants hangin’ off your ass, you ain’t got no home trainin’.”

Once the white man has got some things off his chest, the black man continues with rebuttals for every point the white man tried to make. He then continues by speaking on police brutality, use of the n-word, culture vultures, racism, and more.

“You wanna copy our slang and everything that we know/Tryna steal Black culture and then make it your own, whoa,” the Black man raps. “Fuck, I’m exhausted, I can’t even drive without the cops tryna start shit/I’m tired of the systematic racism bullshit/All you do is false shit, this the shit that I’m falsed with.”
