Nowadays, if you’re an up-and-coming rapper, the move is basically: have some cool pics of yourself, put those cool pics on a Tumblr, maybe make a video that is similar to the cool pics, except with moving images, and then just hope for the best. It’s not even a bad method—in fact, I’d say it’s arguably resulted in more than plenty great songs—but it’s also very much a method. Whether or not Doe B exists inside or outside that world is worth thinking about, but more than that “Let Me Find Out” is worth listening to. It’s the kind of track that doesn’t necessarily exist as much as it used to anymore. And yeah, there was a point where songs like this were everywhere, but now they’re not, and that space can, and should, be filled. So here’s Doe B’s “Let Me Find Out” in all its minimal, catchy glory. It’s a good single with a strong hook; Doe wears an eyepatch and has a similar nimbleness and flexibility to Trap Muzik-era T.I.. If you’re into it, grab Doe B’s mixtape D.O.A.T. 2 right here.
