Big K.R.I.T. Shows His Greatness On New Project ‘K.R.I.T Iz Here’ [STREAM]

One of the most respected lyricists in not only the South but the entire rap game is undoubtedly Mississippi’s Big K.R.I.T., who is back with a new project entitled, ‘K.R.I.T. IZ HERE’.

If the project’s singles “Energy” and “Addiction” (featuring Lil Wayne & Saweetie) are any sign of what’s to come, the whole rap game is in a world of trouble. The project, is the follow-up to K.R.I.T.’s breakout 2011 mixtape ‘K.R.I.T. WUZ HERE’.

‘K.R.I.T. IZ HERE’ includes features from the likes of J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Yella Beezy, Saweetie, Rico Love, and more. in what could be one of the top projects in the entire year and although he stays underrated, K.R.I.T.’s name belongs in the same conversation as Big Boi, T.I., Ludacris, Andre 3000, and Rick Ross. This project just might be the latest installment in a great career that just keeps getting better.

New Music: Big K.R.I.T. – “Look What I Got” [LISTEN]

Big K.R.I.T. ended 2018 by releasing a trio of surprise EPs, which have since all been gathered and united under one title. Off the compilation comes “Look What I Got,” which was on the first installment of the trio and pieces together the emphasis of gratification.

New Video: Big K.R.I.T. – “Big Bank” Feat. T.I. [WATCH]

Conversations like “most slept on” are always in rotation amongst me and my homies. One rapper that I always bring up when the conversation comes up, is definitely Big K.R.I.T., who also had one of the best albums of 2017 in ‘4eva Is a Mighty Long Time.’

K.R.I.T. revisits last year’s double album with the visuals for his thumping “Big Bank” featuring T.I. In the video the Southern rapper appears rocking a gold grill and gold chains, as he stays true to the single’s lyrics and makes paper in a parking garage.

Starting March 15th in Little Rock, Arkansas, K.R.I.T. will embark on his “Heavy Is the Crown Tour” with fellow spitter, CyHi The Prynce.

New Music: Big K.R.I.T. – “Ready For The Next” [LISTEN]

Fox Network will be a new documentary called “89 Blocks” on November 26th. The documentary will give a glimpse into the East St. Louis, Illinois 2016 state high school season, where they were glorious and were crowned champions.

More importantly the documentary’s soundtrack will include a new song from Big K.R.I.T. dubbed “Ready For the Next,” which is produced by Terrace Martin and Jared Gutstadt. This new single comes on the heels of K.R.I.T.’s critically-acclaimed double album and LA Leakers freestyle.

Big K.R.I.T. has never looked back since making the decision to leave Def Jam and go independent. That move alone is probably what made his new double album, ‘4Eva Is a Might Long Time’, a possibility and reality.

Although there was a bit of a hiatus for K.R.I.T., he’s looking to come back stronger and that began with his “Confetti” single a few weeks back.

On the 22-track ‘4Eva Is a Long Time’ double album, Mississippi rapper collaborates with T.I. on “Big Bank,” Jill Scott on “Higher Calling,” Lloyd on “1999,” CeeLo Green and Sleepy Brown on “Get Up 2 Come Down,” and many others.

Big K.R.I.T. – “Free Agent” [LISTEN]

After leaving Def Jam, Big K.R.I.T. is a on the open market as a “Free Agent.”

The southern rapper isn’t sweating not being part of a label and is celebrating his independence. In the song he talks about building himself “from the ground up” and how labels often times try to drown artists.

K.R.I.T. is working on an independent album and will be hitting the road for his “Kritically Acclaimed Tour,” beginning October 22nd in Norfolk, Virginia and ending December 18th in Atlanta, Georgia.

Soul Culture sits down with Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T for our ongoing #OKNotToBeOK mental health campaign, as he speaks on music as therapy, loneliness, depression and finally making the decision to be happy.

Versetti from SoulCulture told me about a new mental health campaign that SoulCulture is involved with called #OKNotToBeOK to raise and spread awareness and support for the mental health of our generation. What a great way to introduce a taboo subject like mental health to a community that often sees emotions a form of weakness. The purpose of this campaign is to show that it is ok to not be ok. I know I just reiterated the title. But really, it is OK to not be OK and in the series of interviews that SoulCulture have started and will continue to release, you’ll see that see how common and less taboo the subject of mental health is. Everybody has gone or is going through something. and it’s OK.
