Even though 2-Pac’s career was cut short, he left behind a mighty music catalog. While alive he produced four platinum-selling albums in ‘2Pacaplypse Now’, ‘Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z…’, ‘Me Against the World’, and ‘All Eyez On Me’.

Pac’s music is timeless and today around the world, people can sing along to his most popular hits like “California Love,” “2 Live & Die In LA,” “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted,” “I Get Around,” “How Do U Want It,” and many others.

With a catalog as thick as Pac’s, it’s hard for the average fan to know every song Pac has made, let alone memorize them. In honor of Pac’s birthday, I’ve went ahead and compiled a list of 10 of 2-Pac’s most slept on songs that the average person doesn’t know. I’ve created my list after years of playing people these songs and them not even knowing they existed. The songs are in no particular order, so please hold your slander.

“LIL HOMIES”

“Lil Homies” is one of Pac’s hardest songs. On the track, he shows love to his “Lil Homies” with explosive, vivid lyrics of the work young gang members put in to get recognized in their gang circle. The Johnny J-produced single is off Pac’s posthumous ‘Until The End Of Time’ album. The album earned a No. 3 spot on BET’s “Top 25 Posthumous Albums of All-Time”. Listen below.

“PAIN”

One of my all-time favorite Pac songs is “Pain.” On this single Pac raps about his adolescent years and being labeled a problem child, while crying out for help. He explicitly raps about his surroundings and the pain he felt with everything going on around him. Listen below.

“FAME”

On “Fame” off his posthumous ‘Better Dayz’ double album, Pac rhymes about the infatuation people have for fame and the things they do. The Hurt M Badd-produced track features Bad Azz and the Outlawz. It was first previewed in “Gang Related,” where Pac played a crooked detective alongside Jim Belushi.

“BABY DON’T CRY”

When it came to tackling social issues Pac did it flawlessly. We know the impact songs like “Brenda’s Got A Baby,” “Changes,” and “Keep Your Head Up” had. Those songs are all staples on his catalog and they’re often referred to. One song that is often forgotten is “Baby Don’t Cry” off the Outlawz’s ‘Still I Rise’ album. I remember my teenage years listening to this song on Power 106 and just focusing on the message that Pac and the Outlawz delivered. Powerful.

“LETTER 2 THE PRESIDENT”

Another song where Pac really spoke out about social injustices and issues was “Letter 2 the President”. Here he speaks out against what he called the biggest gang in the world, America. Before we ever had a Barack Obama, white presidents never cared about the inner city and Pac felt as if America was keeping the inner city trapped. Or as he put it the “outer city,” because they always kept those people out any plans of improvement.

“WHEN WE RIDE”

“When We Ride” off Pac’s classic ‘All Eyez On Me’ album showcases all the Outlawz deadly skillz, as they introduce themselves with alias and all. The track is led by the thumping production, which samples Tha Dogg Pound’s “What Would You Do”.

“DEATH AROUND THE CORNER”

The year 1994 was probably one of Pac’s darkest years highlighted by the alleged rape he didn’t commit, which landed him in New York’s Clinton Correctional Facilities. Pac used the daunting experience to craft this masterpiece that is led by paranoia.

“LORD KNOWS”

“Lord Knows” is the equivalent of Biggie’s “Suicidal Thoughts” single. It displays the depression Pac was fighting with lyrics of death and some hard experiences he dealt with like the death of his friend. On the track Pac scours all his feelings and emotions.

“IS IT COOL 2 FUCK”

An unreleased track that is guarenteed to get you out your seat and on the dance floor after the right amount of Hennessy is “Is It Cool 2 Fuck.” The song was supposed to land on Thug Life’s group album, but never made the cut. Maybe that’s why it’s still so slept on.

“BLACK JESUZ”

On “Black Jesuz,” Pac and the Outlawz reveal who they pray to, with rhymes praising the Jesuz they believed would save them from all the bullshit going on.

Every time I think of Pac, I think of the tremendous catalog and impact he had in pioneering the culture. If he was still here he without a doubt would be shaping minds through his music and keeping people woke. Happy birthday, Legend, and Rest In Peace.

2Pac “All Eyez On Me” Biopic Premiere Recap [PEEP]

It was a star-studded event last evening at the Westwood Village Theater in Los Angeles, as celebrities filled the black carpet for the premiere of 2-Pac’s long-awaited “All Eyez On Me” biopic. The film which hits theaters nationwide tomorrow tells the story of Pac’s life, from his childhood to his tragic death.

Celebrities ranging from Floyd “Money” Mayweather to 2 Chainz to Big Boi of OutKast to MC Hammer to AD and of course star of the movie, Demetrius Shipp Jr. hit the carpet on their way to watch the film before its official release.

I got the chance to speak to a few of the celebrities. Amongst topics discussed I wanted to know how different the culture would be if Pac was still here and the difficult question of what everyone’s favorite Pac lyric is.

LT HUTTON (“ALL EYEZ ON ME” PRODUCER)

I spoke to the film’s producer, LT Hutton briefly about why it took so long for a 2-Pac biopic, his favorite Pac quote, and more. Not only is LT the film’s producer but he personally knew Pac, produced some of his music, and had a personal relationship. Listen below.

BENNY BOOM (“ALL EYEZ ON ME” DIRECTOR)

Benny only had time to answer one question as he was getting rushed in. As the director of the film I asked what the biggest obstacle he faced was and his favorite Pac track of all-time.

DEMETRIUS SHIPP JR. (TUPAC SHAKUR IN “ALL EYEZ ON ME”)

Many people are unaware that “All Eyez On Me” is Demetrius Shipp Jr.’s first acting gig. Many people also don’t know that he grew up playing the drums. D told me he has some music coming soon…DON’T FORGET WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST.

DOMINIC SANTANA (PLAYS SUGE KNIGHT IN “ALL EYEZ ON ME”)

Q: Tell Me About Getting Into The Role Of Suge Knight?

A: “The role was made for me. Starting from smoking cigars, I really do smoke cigars in real life, so it was a good role for me.”

Q: What were some of the things you did to get into character?

A: “A lot of studying. Watched a lot of Suge’s videos. Learned his mannerisms, his walk, his talk, his everything. LT Hutton the producer and a few other guys that were brought into the film to consult and be around us and help coach us on what it really was to be on Death Row. What 2Pac was really like. Wha the relationship with 2Pac and Suge was really like. It’s all real deal from beginning to the end.”

Q: What would it have been like to be an artist in the 2Pac era?

A: I Would’ve hated to be an artist in the 2Pac era. Not only Pac but Dre, Snoop, and all those guys. The competition was much stiffer. Now you can really come on and takeover if you’re okay cuz the competition isn’t as tough.”

Q: What current artist do you feel is the closest thing to Pac?

A: I gotta go with J. Cole. I’m from Fayetteville, North Carolina, so I gotta go with Cole. I dig Kendrick and the other guys too, but Cole I think at this point is the most in touch with touching the fans to the soul, not just the ears.

BIG BOI OF OUTKAST

I chopped it up with hip-hop royalty Big Boi of OutKast, who told me what to expect from his forthcoming album ‘Boomiverse’, how he remembers Pac, and his favorite Pac song of all-time.

MC HAMMER

It was Hammer time on the red carpet! MC Hammer said why he misses Pac, the talent that came out the Pac era, and how different the culture would be.

In one of the funniest interviews of the night, AD took shots at Sourmilk’s face and feet. The rapper also rapped his favorite Pac lyric, told me what Pac song he would’ve got on if he had the chance, new music, and more.

DENNIS GRAHAM

Annie Ilonzeh plays Kidada Jones, who was Pac’s girlfriend in real life and was in the hotel room the night Pac’s life was taken.

Get A Glimpse Of What 2Pac’s “All Eyez On Me” Biopic Will Bring In The Official Trailer [WATCH]

One of the most hyped movies of this year is Tupac Shakur’s “All Eyez On Me” biopic. There has been a few trailers that have surfaced on the Internet but today the official one has made waves. The trailer shows the close bond between Pac and Biggie before their infamous beef, Pac’s release from prison and more.

Tupac is played by Demetrius Shipp Jr. who is shown talking to the Notorious B.I.G. played by Jamal Woodard about the impact they can have through their music. Pac is also shown as a child with his stepfather and his mother, Afeni Shakur at a Black Panthers meeting.

The trailer also shows Pac in the studio making music, Suge Knight’s negative influence on him, his Quad Studios shooting, release from prison, skirmish at Mike Tyson’s fight, and more.

“All Eyez On Me” will star Kat Graham as longtime friend Jada Pinkett-Smith, Lauren Cohan as his manager Leila Steinberg, and Danai Gurira as Afeni Shakur. The Beeny Boom-directed film is set to hit theaters on June 16th, what would’ve been Pac’s 46th birthday.

Release Date Set For 2-Pac Shakur’s Biopic ‘All Eyez On Me’ [PEEP]

After dealing with several delays, Tupac Shakur’s biopic “All Eyez On Me” finally has a release date. The highly anticipated film will hit theaters on Tupac’s birthday, June 16th, 2017.

“All Eyez On Me” is directed by Benny Boom, who’s directed several music videos for different artists, and will starr Demetrius Shipp Jr. as 2-Pac. Jamal Woolard, who played the Notorious B.I.G. in the film “Notorious” will play the same role, while “The Walking Dead’s” Danai Gurira will play Pac’s mother, Afeni.

On 2-Pac’s 20-year death anniversary director Benny Boom gave fans a preview of the upcoming ‘All Eyez On Me’ biopic starring Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Pac. The film will touch on Pac’s relationship with Biggie, Suge Knight, Death Row and more. It’s rumored to hit the big screen November 11th.
